The Ravelglen team had a fantastic day yesterday at a very well supported Antrim Show.
It was a busy week beforehand halter training 3 young calves. They brought our entry up to 7 cattle .The prep went well and the cattle arrived clean which is always a blessing with that many.
The judge on the day was Dan Bull who had travelled all the way from Dumfrieshire. Dan has vast experience in judging native breeds and has been around the show ring for over 50 years..
Our first class was the Senior Heifer. We had two entries, Ravelglen Ramona 584 with her 5 week old calf took first place and the slightly younger Ravelglen Ramona 2 654 with her 7 week old calf took third.
The next class was the junior heifer class. It was won by our very sweet April 2025 born Ravelglen Emerald 875. She went on to take the overall Junior Champion.
The two young calves Ravelglen Ramona 4 074 and Ravelglen Ramona 2 063 competed in the heifer Calf class with 7 strong entries and the baby of the bunch Ramona 4 074 took a very credible 4th place.
The Senior Bull Class was next up and one of our Stock Bulls Killua Hermes took first place.
The Bull calf Class was next and again we took a first with Ravelglen Shay on his first day out. He is a very promising young bull and he also won Reserve Calf Champion.
The two young Ramona Calves were out in the Pairs and were very well shown by our helpers for the day Emily and Lucy Scott ,who rounded off a wonderfull day with first place.
Congratulations to Rachel Armour on winning the overall breed Champion with her 6 year old cow Tully Tuluah.
