Hot summer nights, chilled Sicilian Reds 🍷

….why not give Mandrarossa Frappato 2025 vintage a go as it’s still on offer at £14.99 a bottle, serve it slightly chilled to enjoy.

Tasting Notes & info -
The Mandrarossa winery was established in 1999 and has done wonders with the local Frappato grape’s, their Frappato vineyards stretch along south and west facing hills, on clay and sand soils, 250 meters above sea level. The Mandrarossa winery have produced a true Sicilian wine for all to enjoy. Frappato is typically quite pale in colour, except rose hip and cherry on the nose with floral notes. Bright and juicy on the palate, light to medium bodied, fresh and loaded with busts of fresh stone fruit. Chill it down a little to highlight the lovely cherry fruit and hints of pomegranate….

New and just in time for the weekend🍷

The Plantagenet Three Lions Cabernet Sauvignon & The Plantagenet Three Lions Shiraz both from top Australian producer Great Southern, why not treat yourself this weekend to a bottle….

Tasting Notes-

Plantagenet Three Lions Shiraz – The wine is a deep garnet in colour and boasts intense mulberry and violet aromas with a dusting of black pepper. The palate is full flavoured with the sweet plum characters supported by elegant tannins. It has a subtle savouriness balanced by notes of cardamom and nutmeg with fresh acidity and a long finish.

Plantagenet Three Lions Cabernet Sauvignon -
The cabernet from this vintage had plenty of punch, expect ripe blackcurrant and to***co leaf aromas with lifted bright cherry and red currant notes. Neatly integrated palate with supple tannins and fine grained oak. Hints of coffee grinds and dark chocolate with even a hint of orange rind ( just a hint ) completes this excellent quality Cabernet Sauvignon……enjoy.

🍷 We were delighted to welcome Stefano Colombo from the prestigious Italian winery Fantini Wines to McGarry’s Fine Wines last week.

We’re also excited to have just added Fantini Pinot Grigio Blush to our range. This beautifully refreshing wine offers delicious notes of custard cream, stewed apple, and a delicate hint of peach, thanks to gentle skin contact during winemaking. It’s a unique and incredibly enjoyable blush that’s perfect for summer.
