❌‼️🐓 CHICKEN UPDATE- PART 5 🐓‼️❌

🐓 So for the moment we are going to take a break from keeping chickens.

🐓 We have had chickens for years now so it is a bit sad not having them around at the moment.

🌱 However we are aiming to restock in the spring time when the days start to lengthen again…. We’ll keep you posted when we do.

🐓‼️🦡 CHICKENS UPDATE- PART 4 🦡‼️🐓

‼️ ❌A video of the footage our trail camera picked up - it may contain footage that is of a sensitive nature❌‼️

‼️ I have tried to edit it in a way that gives a true reflection of what happened during a two and a half hour period while removing the more distressing footage‼️

🐓 The end of our wee flock of chickens…..

🐓‼️❌🦡 CHICKEN UPDATE - Part 3 🦡❌‼️🐓

🎥 I took this wee video clip about a few weeks before the final attacks……

🔉 Pop the on and have a wee listen as to what I have to say about the three musketeers and their coop.

📸 The first few nights of having the trail camera set up we only caught our cats in the night and nothing else so kinda thought maybe they were actually safe enough in the garden…..

🐓‼️ However one night we lost of one the three musketeers as we had affectionately called them and they were down to just two!

🎥 So we set up the trail camera again that following night and by morning we had no more chickens left….. 😢

🐓❌‼️🦡 CHICKEN UPDATE- PART 2 🦡‼️❌🐓

☀️ One morning at the start of the summer holidays….

😢 The girls went down to let the hens out as usual and came across a sad sight…..

🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓 Six hens had been killed in the night.

🌒 Something had gotten in through the night and had killed them but left them in the coop.

‼️ Then the same happened over the next few nights until we were just left 3 hens…… out of 24!

🐓❌‼️🦡 A CHICKEN UPDATE - PART 1 🐓‼️🦡

🍳 If you have been wondering why we haven’t had our own eggs in the farm shop over recent weeks……

😢 It’s because we have sadly lost our egg producing flock of chickens due to an attack from predators!

🐓 The flock started as a strong group of 36 last July…..

❌ On the first morning we were unlucky and came across some feathers and had lost one over night however that was just unlucky…..

🐓 Then in the spring time numbers started reducing but something must have been taking them during the day and leaving no trace or evidence and we started this summer with 24 hens…..
