Thank you to everyone for keeping your donations last week,

In preparation for what may be one of the most difficult winters this year in Ukraine, we are requesting the following priorities: Food- tins of beans, soup or anything in a tin; dried pasta, rice and anything you can pour boiling water onto; sugar, flour; biscuits; Sleeping Bags; Bedding including clean Duvets,sheets and warm blankets; Incontinence pants; simple toiletries including soap, toothpaste & brush, shampoo and conditioner, razors; sanitary towels; Nappies even open packs; Pet food; Electric/motorised scooters and wheelchairs, ordinary wheelchairs where the disabled can work themselves; Pots, pans and cutlery; Camping stoves (No Gas); slow cookers; Microwaves; kitchen equipment; Wellington, hiking and working boots; New thermal socks; Off the shelf medications - paracetamol; Ibuprofen; painkillers etc; TOOLS - any to repair motor vehicles, spanners, socket sets etc;, long nails, hammers, shovels, axes, saws; electric tools - drills, sanders, ( but no batteries please); most hand tools and generators.
Financial donations are always welcome to help pay for the ever increasing transport costs.
Unfortunately we still cannot accept clothes - some EU countries will peneralise and fine lorry drivers for taking clothes.
For the children - for Christmas this year Sweets and chocolate will be taken to orphanages in Kiev and Lviv. Check for the best value in many local supermarkets.
We will be open again this Saturday 10th Oct between 10.00 a.m.and 3.00.p.m at Stonebridge Farm, Wolvershill Road, Banwell - the road is closed from the Worle end but you can still access via Banwell.
The local communities have been exceptional in bringing highly valued donations during the last year.

Thank you to everyone for the phenomenal number and range, including many monetary donations for transport costs, we received again this week.
There have been so many boxes of food, boots, sleeping bags/roll mats, medical supplies, material/wool, tools, candles, cooking equipment, pet food, nappies and incontinence pants.

We are very lucky to have so many regular supporters, as well as new donors each week from across local communities. Ukraine needs all the support we can give as reported on the daily news and first hand from the lorry drivers just returned after delivering your aid into Ukraine.
A very Big Thank You to everyone.

Due to your monumental support, our storage areas are now completely full again.
So reluctantly, we will not be opening Saturday 3rd October to receive your donations this coming week.

We hope to be able to open again soon, so please look out for our FaceBook posts for further information.

Hello Everyone,
It's been another record-breaking number of donations again this week - thank you to all who brought so many items again.

We are only able to accept the following items, this week, due to the increasing cost of transporting aid directly into Ukraine. The following are being prioritised:
Sleeping bags and roll mats; Food (dry and tinned); Candles; Torches without batteries; Blankets; small medical items (medications, dressings, surgical boots and splints); Clingfilm; Wellington boots and good quality work boots; Toiletries; Pet food only (no bedding); Incontinence pants; Sanitary ware; all cooking equipment; small heaters and nappies/wipes.

Donations can be delivered to Stonebridge Farm, Wolvershill Road, Banwell BS29 6DR on Saturday 10.00.a.m.- 3.00.p.m.
Please note we will be closed on Saturday 3rd October.

Hello Everyone,
Well, you never disappoint - so many donations again last Saturday, thank you all for being so generous. We understand that some of your donations are because you may have lost a loved one or they are no longer able to stay in their home.
Please be reassured that all your items are going to people who really do appreciate what you are doing for them.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any clothes.

As Winter approaches Ukraine, they are desperate for Wellingtons, Walking & Work Boots, Warm clean Sleeping bags, mats for them to lie on, Clean Blankets, Duvets & Sheets. Wool to produce blankets, Fire lighters, Candles, Full Body Wipes, Nappies, Basic Toiletries. Any type of food is welcome but not perishables.
If you can spare £5 or £10 for transporting aid, this would be extremely helpful.

We loaded a lorry on Thursday with so many of your donations - thanks to Alan, his grandson Finn, Norbert and Iryna for working tirelessly to get everything onboard. A number of lorries from Bridgwater and other collecting areas are travelling by convoy into Ukraine dropping off Aid to various cities and towns. The drivers are very brave as Russia is also bombing the main routes to the west.( as seen earlier this week with the train bombing) We wish them all Good Luck during what can be a dangerous journey.

If you wish to donate any of the items listed above please bring them to Stonebridge Farm, Banwell BS29 6DR each Saturday 10.00.a.m.-3.00.p.m.
Please note the road from Worle is closed by the Bypass works but you can still access via the Banwell end.

Hello Everyone
There have been exceptional donations again during the last couple of weeks. Special mention must go to the residents and management of St Monica's Sandford Station; The Mothers' Union in Banwell and the congregations of both St Andrews of Banwell & Congresbury and to so many donors who come each week - there are too many of you to mention here. We have also received a significant number of sewing machines from Caroline in Banwell - Ukrainians are now making stretchers and clothes for their families - if you have any spare material and wool please donate on a Saturday.

Ukraine are already making preparations for winter, which they believe will be one of the hardest and they are requesting the following priorities:
For male and female Frontline Defenders winter clothing e.g winter boots, thermal underwear (new), warm jackets, fleeces, coats, hats, scarves and gloves; warm, clean and dark coloured only.
Firelighters (25p from ASDA); duvets; bedding; blankets; candles; torches - batteries to be handed in separately please.; food - dry & tinned, sugar,flour,meat,fish,,baked beans, instant mash,rice, noodles, pasta,tea bags, coffee (3 in 1); off the shelf medications painkillers, paracetamol, ibuprofen, burns gel, clingfilm, tubigrips, muscle rubs, antiseptic creams, splints and braces, Tens machines,nebulisers, blood pressure monitors, electric feeding syringes/peg equipment; kitchen equipment; pet food - wet and dry; nappies, baby wipes, baby milk and creams.

Please note: from Wednesday 9th September to 7th October Wolvershill Road will be closed for further work on the bypass. But you can still get to us from the Banwell end.

We will be open to receive donations each Saturday between 10.00.a.m to 3.00.p.m. at Stonebridge Farm, Wolvershill Road, Banwell. BS29 6DR.

Hello everyone,

Our local communities have supported Somerset Aid for Ukraine (SAFU) exceptionally well for just over a year now.
This winter in Ukraine is likely to be the most challenging yet.
Kyiv has experienced some of the heaviest bombing, in recent weeks, since the war began. There are real fears that the main infrastructure supplying heat, electricity and water will continue to be targeted and may not survive the harsh winter. To help keep Kyvi's elderly citizens safe they are being urged to move into other towns and villages. Many women and children in community Hubs are working together making bags, stretchers and various equipment for soldiers.
So if you have any unwanted sewing machines, cottons, materials of all sorts including heavy duty calico or canvas; zips, "hooks and eyes", sewing, knitting or crochet needles, Wool and strong canvas bags/backpacks.

The following aid continues to be urgently required:
Dry and tinned Foods; Blankets & Duvets; Bedding; Medical supplies - dressings, plasters, rolls of cling film, bandages; Incontinence Pants; Basic toiletries - soap, toothpaste and brushes, sanitary towels,shampoo & conditioner and razors; Sleeping bags and roll mats; Pots and Pans; Microwaves; Slow cookers; Cutlery and crockery; Camping stoves (no gas); Candles; Heaters; Hand and foot warmers; Hot Water bottles; Pet food; Wellingtons and walking boots.

Thank you, for so many fabulous donations, including the monetary ones, during the last few weeks.
There have been so many people again within Banwell and the wider communities of Winscombe, Sandford, Clevedon, Congresbury, Worle and Weston who continue to support Somerset Aid For Ukraine (SAFU).
As we watch the relentless bombing in civilian areas by Russia it is clear how much support the Ukrainian people need.
Four van and carloads of aid were taken to Bridgwater last week, but without financial donations items cannot be transported to Ukraine.
So, if you can spare just £5.00 it can all adds up and can make a considerable difference. Please make your financial donations using this website: https://gofund.me/518222a7 But remember to zero the Tip.
The following items are a priority: Dry and tinned foods; bedding; medicines and medical items e.g. dressings, bandages( especially for burn victims), rolls of clingfilm, full body wipes, burn gel and standard off the shelf medications; incontinence pads; cooking equipment; pots & pans; cutlery; toiletries; washing detergents and pet food.
Unfortunately, currently due to lack of storage space we cannot accept any large medical aids e.g. wheelchairs; walkers; crutches - any tools, clothes or tents.
So many in the Army of knitters and crocheters have continued to make blankets during this very hot weather and are running out of wool.

Hi Everyone,

We have received some very generous donations again during the last two weeks.
The generosity of Banwell, Winscombe, Sandford and residents of nearby and further afield communities has been incredible, with many giving regular support to Somerset Aid for Ukraine.
We will be taking another van load to Bridgwater again this Saturday.

If you are moving soil, hardcore stone or anything really heavy then we have some clean,heavy-duty, thick 25 Kilo plastic bags. There are some Bag of Bags (approximately 10 in each bag) available for £3.00 cash donation to Ukraine.

As usual, we are open for donations every Saturday between 10.00.a.m. - 3.00.p.m. at Stonebridge Farm, Wolvershill Road, Banwell. BS29 6DR.

Hello Everyone,

A big "Thank You" to so many people who brought some marvellous donations last week - but especially to Banwell Mothers' Union; many Winscombe residents; Lydia at the BUPA Nursing Home in Clevedon and Suzanne. Apologies if I have missed anyone.....

We have received, on your behalf, a wonderful certificate from Iryna, Norbert and their colleagues "Let's Believe Everything Will Be Good" in Ukraine. It is down to the fantastic support from so many people in Banwell and the wider locality of villages, towns and countryside areas that enables so many donations being sent from Stonebridge Farm to Bridgwater and directly into Ukraine.

There is a lorry departing from Bridgwater this Saturday so Pam will be taking another van load to get your donations to where they are desperately needed.
