Hi and hello from Breezy Teesdale! I’m glad of the warm(ish) breeze these last few days as the sales of Shearling curls have gone so well I’ve had to process some more. We sell both Shearling (first clip) and Ewe curls. Shearling curls are much longer and finer than the Ewe curls as they have been growing on the sheep for up to 15 months. The ends are often flatter than the Ewe curls, as they have developed naturally from birth. Occasionally there will be natural pale yellow colour towards the end, totally natural but can be bleached out if required. Ewe curls are fatter and shorter with a slightly curlier end. All curls are processed the same way, hot washed and air dried then graded for quality. Curls being a natural product, lengths will vary within a 25gram pack, but I try to keep curls consistent within 5 cm of the advertised lengths. The longer lengths are ideal for trims, dolls hair, weaving and adding accents to all types of wool craft. The shorter curls are best suited for gnome/santa beards, needle felted projects and shorter accents/trims.

SOLD Good Morning from blustery Teesdale! I have a lovely thick fluffy Raw fleece available from our pet Wether 'Hubert'. Hubert is a Masham ( Teeswater x Northern Mule Sheep) and was rejected by his mother so was bottle fed by me . He has an important job looking after the lambs when they are weaned, and showing any bought in lambs how to behave 😉. The money from his fleece goes directly to keep him on the farm where he will live out his days. Its huge but light and fluffy and once processed will spin up beautifully. Hello from Teesdale! I’ve now got some Ewe separated curls ready for sale. These proved very popular last year and were sold out in a couple of months. They are mixed lengths up to 6 inches ( 15 cm) and ideal for needle felting projects, being especially good for gnomes and Santa beards/hair. They are hot washed and ready for use or will dye beautifully. They are sold in 25 g bunches and there is quite a lot in 25 grams -I can do one gnomes hair and beard with a bit left over. Thanks you for all the 'likes' and messages about our lovely flock and fleeces. The Etsy shop is now live with three products - Shearling spinning fleece and seperated locks, and Ewe spinning fleece. Shorter locks will be listed as and when I process them and are especially good for needle felting sheep and gnome/santa beards. They take a lot of collecting so bear with me 😊. Not listed on Etsy is a fabulous full shearling raw fleece as taken straight off the young sheep, first clip and very clean. This young shearling is quite small but with a fabulous fleece that is very fine and curly, with a shorter than normal staple for a shearling at around 8 inches (20 cm). Suitable for spinning or curl collection is is loose and soft with no felting, and weighs around 1.8 kilo. Available to Uk purchases only due to bio-security. £ 8O + postage at cost direct from farm. Hello from Sunny/rainy/windy/hailstoney Teesdale! We sheared the flock 10 days ago which was a good idea as they had a week of dry warm weather and the fleeces were perfect for shearing. Thanks to Lindsey Carter for doing a fabulous job -I know how much you love the Teeswaters Lindsey and look forward to shearing them every year 😂😂.
We have got some top-quality fleeces, Shearling Lamb and Ewe, which I am in the process of cold rinsing to eliminate heavy soiling. The fleeces are soft and loose with a nice luminescence and very clean, perfect for curl collection or spinning. I also have a full raw shearling fleece and a huge felted ewe fleece that came off the sheep in one piece and will make a fantastic rug. This year I have limited amounts of Shearling lamb separated curls up to 12 inches in length , and the shorter 6-8 inch separated ewe curls so popular with Gnomes and Santa Claus.I will be listing on Etsy over the next few days but remember its cheaper and better for me if you buy direct from the farm, All money from the sale of fleeces go directly back into the farm to help maintain the flock, and its simple to order, just drop me a message and I’ll send you an invoice through paypal. Keep following – some items will be listed exclusively on here tomorrow evening before going onto Etsy.
