Hello from a beautiful autumnal Teesdale! All our fleece and curls for 2025 have now sold out. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has purchased our pedigree Teeswater fleece this year. Your support means the world to us, as it helps sustain our small rural business and our cherished flock of Teeswater sheep.

Exciting News About Our Flock: This year, we have welcomed a new addition to the flock—a very handsome Tup (Ram) boasting a fabulous fleece. Initially, we planned to name him Oscar, inspired by his somewhat ‘Wilde’ nature. However, he has affectionately become known as ‘Ozzie’ due to the striking black markings around his eyes, and, indeed, his slightly wild temperament! We are eagerly anticipating meeting his lambs in the spring.

Looking Ahead to 2026: For our 2026 clip, we will have four full shearling fleeces alongside the beautiful ewe fleeces that proved so popular this year. We encourage you to keep an eye on our updates; if all goes to plan before Christmas, we hope to offer a selection of Teeswater merchandise.

Hello from a glorious Autumnal Teesdale! there is so much fruit on the trees and bushes this year, our apple tree is laden with large fruits, which are being picked and frozen for plenty of crumbles and tarts throughout the winter. Our lambs are enjoying the flush of lush green grass brought on by the recent rain and mild weather, and their mums are now in a different field, soon to be joined by the new Ram (when we buy one next week)
The Teeswater loose fleece 2025 clip is now sold out. Thank you to everyone that supported my small rural business. I still have a good amount of washed separated Teeswater locks in 25g and 50g bundles. These are up to 8in/20cm curls ready to use and suitable for all sorts of crafts. We do sell out quickly, so hurry -I don't want any Baldy Gnomes or Santas on my conscience 😂

Hi from Teesdale -I can't describe the weather as it seems to be bright sunshine, gale force winds and horizontal rain on an hourly cycle! At least the fields are now greening up, although the sheep are pulling faces like 'where's the nice weather gone'?
Anyway...as predicted the sales are now back in full flow with curls off today to the USA, Finland, and Poland. Due to a few enquiries, I can now offer 25-gram bundles of curls as well as the 50 grams. There are a surprisingly large amount of curls in 25 grams -enough for a very generous Santa beard and hair, and all curls are sold with free delivery in the UK.

Hello from Teesdale!. It looks like Autumn may be creeping in after a glorious summer, where our wind up here was much warmer than normal 😂, but not really enough rain for the fields which are looking a bit like shredded wheat at the moment . Following a very slow August for sales, everyone seems to have got the kids back to school and looking forward to winter crafts, as the fleece is now selling very fast. I have only around 3 kilos of cold rinsed raw Teeswater fleece left, and one lovely long felted piece suitable for a shawl or dividing for cushion covers. Santa and gnomes rejoice! as I have plenty of fabulous washed separated curls for sale for your beards! -but be wary that I’ve sold out every year by the beginning of November, so if you are wanting these for crafts best get your orders in to avoid disappointment. These curls are 6 -8 inches, are clean and ready to use.
A recent 5-star review stated, "in spite of being shipped from China these locks are fabulous." Well, I can assure you, every last curly bit is straight from my own sheep in Teesdale—no passport stamps or frequent flyer miles involved! The fleece travels directly from the farm (with zero sightseeing stops), but Etsy says it's just a customer opinion and won't shear off that review. Hey Ho! 🙄

Hi from Teesdale where autumn seems to have come back and (do not judge😄 ) I've put the heating on for a bit! I've added some hand dyed shearling curls to the shop that I did last year as an experiment. There are only limited quantities, but they are all around 12 inches long and very pretty colours. https://teeswaterfleece.etsy.com/listing/4326594442
I've sold out of full felted fleeces but have two larger bits, one shaped like a natural cape and one that would make a nice shawl or runner.

Many thanks and does anyone know how to turn the heat back on in Teesdale! 😂

Hello from Teesdale!
The sheep are all sheared and feeling much more comfortable with all those curls removed. Thank you to Lindsay for expertly shearing them, putting up with their tantrums including the little madams refusing to bend and kicking like kangaroos. The best behaved was the tup, Diesel, who nearly fell asleep being sheared. I’ve hit the road running, making the most of the warm windy weather and have started processing the loose curls off the raw fleece. I hot wash these using an organic cleaner and they are looking nice. I’ve cold rinsed two fleeces to remove the muck and dust, and they are looking exceptionally good so far, lots of curls and loose open fleece for spinning. There has been no chemicals or cleaning products on this fleece, and it still retains most of its lanolin but none of the smelly bits, so is ready to be scoured or spun ‘in the grease’. Below is a photo of the first curls to come off a raw fleece, second are some of the washed curls drying in the back yard. Stuff should be ready for sale by next week, and of course, all followers of the page will get a first look before its listed on Etsy.

Hello from Teesdale!
Firstly, thank you to all my customers who come back every year for our Teeswater fleece and curls. Getting a decent price for our product enables us to continue to support the Teeswater breed which, despite becoming more popular with smallholders, continues to be classed as ‘at risk’ on the UK rare breed register.
Weather permitting, we will be shearing at the weekend, and the following week I will be assessing the fleeces before making up a sales list. We reduced our Teeswater flock last year, so full fleeces will be limited, and I’ll be concentrating on producing top quality prepared separated curls. I can see by looking at the sheep I may have a couple of felted fleeces suitable for vegetarian rugs. Also, we have the fleece from our Blue Faced Leicester, Kit, our Masham, Hubert, and a beautiful Blue/Grey fleece from our Blue Texel Diesel.
Follow our page for updates and be the first to see our lovely fleece!
