Teesdale Alpacas

Teesdale Alpacas Alpaca Farm based in Beautiful Teesdale. Open by appointment only. Farm visits are also available and of course we have lots of lovely alpaca products t

We do get booked up some way in advance, particularly in summer, for Treks aka Walking with Alpacas. Starting from a small group of boys we quickly realised we wanted to breed our own Alpacas. In addition to showing and selling (occasionally!) our alpacas we also have a range of Alpaca products. We try to use local businesses where possible - however in our area local can mean the Scottish Borders

where our alpaca tweed is woven or Castleford in Yorkshire where our Hats and Caps are made from the alpaca cloth. We also make and sell fibre processing equipment.

5 days to go before we close our pop up shop at 5pm on Christmas Eve!

Our Teesdale Alpacas limited edition alpaca tweed teddy bears are made for us by Merrythought. They are microchipped, come with their own alpaca cloth scarf & a beautiful cream & gold adoption certificate.

Merrythought is an iconic British brand established on 1930! They are based in Ironbridge, Shropshire and are Britain's only remaining traditional teddy bear manufacturer that hand makes its bears in its original factory!

We love the varied wildlife we are so fortunate to have here in Teesdale - On the farm we have nesting birds including curlews and lapwing and these cute wee guys, the colourful oystercatcher. Unfortunately it's not uncommon to see some with fishing line or other stuff wrapped up in their legs...this guy was in a pickle with grass and sheep wool hobbling him...he couldn't even fly away when I stopped the van to catch him. He sat quietly on the passenger seat for the minute it took to drive home and was very tolerant of me cutting away his wooly shackles...hopefully he'll survive his trauma and come back and visit us next year !
