✨ SEPTEMBER HOLIDAY ✨

Following another amazingly busy summer, we’re due a little break to rest up physically and mentally 😂

We’ll be open as usual until 12pm on Saturday 12th September, then closed until 9am on Thursday 24th September.

As usual, we’ll be running stock down in the days leading up, so get your orders in to avoid any disappointment!

We’d also like to thank everyone that’s kept us so busy over the summer months - we’re so, so grateful …But we’re also absolutely goosed now 😂🥴🫩

Some of you may have noticed a familiar face behind our counter a couple of days this week… 👀
Debbie (formerly of Albert Road Fisheries) is ever so kindly helping us out on an ad hoc basis when we require an extra pair of hands.
She’s on an “as and when” agreement with us (but if it was up to us, we’d have her full time 😂), so sadly it’s just me and Dan serving you tomorrow, but expect to see Debbie’s cheery little chops serving on occasionally going forward 🥰

Better days are coming! ☀️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽️ 🍻

The sun is coming back out to play, and England face Norway in the World Cup quarter finals this weekend 👏🏼 definitely calls for some quick-fix meals, wouldn’t you agree?! 👀
But be warned - quiche and cooked chickens are super quick sellers when the sun shines, so make sure you order ahead to avoid any disappointment!

And obviously you need some half-time grub to keep your energy up on Saturday and support the boys until they claim another victory 👀 ⚽️ so don’t forget to stock up on those all-important pies…

🥵 oh, and one more thing! While we plan on honouring our normal opening hours as the heat climbs, we may close early to protect our fridges if absolutely necessary 😬

Walking through the door at 4am to a broken fridge in this heat is NOT what we needed.
Thankfully we’re surrounded by some ✨AMAZING✨ work neighbours who rallied round to help us store everything so we didn’t have to discard it all!! 🙏🏻 (massive shoutout to Nathan and Cafe on the Square for letting us commandeer their fridge space 😘)
We’re forever grateful for the fantastic community we’re lucky to be a part of 🥰

Anyway, this is very much needed, so CHEERS 🍻 let’s do it all again tomorrow… 😂😂

The post we had hoped we wouldn’t have to write.. 🫣

Despite our very best efforts to manage the hot conditions yesterday, we arrived at 4am today (to try and beat the heat) to find our main fridge unit has truly had enough of this sweltering heat (same here, fridge 🙋🏻‍♀️), and has decided to stop working 🫠

In spite of this, we WILL be open this morning, but we will only have a limited range compared to our usual offering! We expect this to be the case tomorrow too, while we navigate this fridge-based nightmare we’re faced with.

(If anyone ever wonders why we close early when it’s this hot, THIS is why 😂)

☀️ Just a reminder! ☀️

We’ve officially called it a day on baking pies off this morning, so once they’re gone, they’re gone! 🥰

Given this week’s forecast, we have made a slight tweak to our opening hours in an attempt to survive the heatwave 😂

We WILL be open, but we’ve made the decision to close at 12pm on Wednesday and Thursday, so we can aim to avoid the sweltering 30 degree heat.

While we’re absolutely not complaining about the glorious weather, 30 degrees outside means temperatures above 50 degrees in the shop, and that’s not good for anyone (or our fridges!) 😂🥵

Feel free to order ahead this week, because we’ll be trying to get as much baked off as early as we can, then we can get our ovens off! (So once we’ve sold out, that’s it 😬)

⛳️ 100 holes in a day - COMPLETED! ⛳️

Yesterday, our favourite golf-obsessed Dan took on a challenge that was even a bit too golfy for him 😂😂

After a 4.20am drop off… the boys fired through the first few rounds, before a slightly fatigued afternoon, and wrapped up their 100th hole in just under 14 hours 👏🏼 (clocking up nearly 30 miles throughout 🥴)

We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that took the time to donate to their fundraising in aid of MacMillan 🥰 your support and kind words helped push them through to the end 💚

(And as his little (slightly useless) caddy for the afternoon, I can confirm Daniel did us all proud)

✨ 6 YEARS ✨

Can someone explain how it’s been 6 years since we took over our lovely little business?! 🤯

We can honestly say we’re busier than we’ve ever been, and we’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved 🥰 we appreciate all of our customers that have supported us over the years, and never take it for granted how lucky we are!

We look forward to seeing what the next 12 months bring for us! (Hopefully a slower ageing process 😂🫣🫠) 🥂🍾
