So… is bread actually healthy?! 🍞🤔

I went to ask Sandor, our head baker, and honestly… his answer was NOT what I was expecting 😂

Apparently, it’s a bit more complicated than “bread is good” or “bread is bad”.

We chatted about flour, fermentation, why our sourdough takes so much time and what actually happens to the dough while it’s fermenting.

And apparently, time is one of the secret ingredients 👀

I definitely learnt a few things… although I’m still mainly interested in the bit where we get to eat it. 😂

It's official. Hot chocolate weather is back. 👀

The new Maple Spice hot chocolate… topped with whipped cream, salted caramel and toffee sauce! 🍁

Three new flavours have landed at Nonna Mia… and we’re not sure which one we’d choose. 👀🍦

🍂 Parkin - our creamy plain gelato with blitzed-up parkin (from the bakeroom, available in the Farm Shop) running through it, finished with a treacle ripple.

🔥 S’mores - Fior di Latte gelato with milk chocolate, caramel biscuits and toasted marshmallows on top.

🍒 Black Forest - plain gelato with a black cherry ripple, chocolate cake (made in the bakeroom and available in the Farm Shop) and chocolate stracciatella.

Made here at Cannon Hall Farm Shop and very, very difficult to resist.

Farmer Roger has picked his favourite bread from the Farm Shop…

And apparently, our ciabatta is the one!

He’s also got a top tip for what to do when you’ve forgotten to eat it and it’s starting to go a little stale.

Because around here, we’re not wasting good bread! 😂
