Exactly 6 weeks old and got my first egg from one of the hens. I knew something was going to happen, as the birds were eating more and making nests in the shavings.. I'm amazed at how quick these little birds grow..😍🥚

The Quail hooligans are 5 weeks old, almost adult size. They have finally sussed out how to use the ramp! There are definitely 8 hens and 6 males. The remaining 4 I will have to see if they either crow or lay an egg, although I have known some do both! There are some lovely feather colours in this covey 😍

Chicks almost a week old. They are growing so quickly, even the tiny black one who I had concerns about. They eat a fair amount of chick crumb.. 😍🐥

Taking the remaining 2 chicks out of the incubator this morning, I decided to check the 3 remaining eggs to see if they would hatch. Upon candling them, 2 of them definitely weren't going to hatch. But one egg was starting to pip (a crack was on the shell). So popped it back into the incubator, and later this morning this little was was there. It's a few days over, but seems to be active enough. He can go in the brooder cage with the others tomorrow.. The grand total is out of 24 eggs.. 22 have hatched, sadly lost 2 weakly chicks. But so pleased with the ones Ive got.. 😍🐣
