An overcast morning for the first game of the U9s new season. Thank you to Vickerstown for hosting us! Both teams played some excellent football and the development from both teams, over the last few years, was evident this morning.

Kobie #8 🧱
Eager to be back from the first whistle this morning. Driven, focussed and full of energy. Made some excellent defensive contributions but movement up the pitch allowed him to complete a great team move and open the scoring!

Jacob #4 ⏱️
No fuss and took no nonsense in the process! Strong in the tackle and showed an improved understanding with his movement today, linking his play across the pitch! Tracked attackers well and timed his tackles to perfection!

Luca #12 👟👟
Fast and focussed today! Won the ball, got a foot in, made the pass, recovered the ball, he did the lot this morning. Really positive on and off the ball!

Noah #9 🧠
Relentless with his effort today. Grew into the game really well showing maturity to play in the middle to link up play and test the keeper from distance! His through balls and 1-2s allowed the team to move really well up and down the pitch.

Archie #5 💫
Locked in to today's game with a real focused energy. Wanted that ball and his footwork allowed some great opportunities for the team. Finished off a great piece of build up play with a lovely finish. Worked hard throughout and got a well deserved second.

Seb #11⚡
Enthusiastic this morning and that was before the kick off! He showed his strength in the tackle and made some excellent charges forward. Made a confident statement that he was going to score in the 3rd quarter, and he did seconds later. Great finish but the work he put in beforehand was fantastic.

Harry #10 💪🏻
His one touch pass allows the team to move forward and his awareness of teammates positioning is excellent. Showed an increased strength as the game went on and had some physical battles to protect the ball. Through balls from his own half were a highlight!

Today's player of the match won the game for the team! He made saves throughout but the last few minutes - his save from a close range, direct free kick would have made TV highlights! Strong saves with hands and feet with an increasing confidence to collect the ball. Number #1... Sebastian 🏆⚽🧤

Dan & Sam are really proud of the team's attitude and effort today but their resilience was phenomenal! A great way to kickstart, what is going to be a demanding season 🔥
