All our pigs are born outdoors at Packington.

Our sows live their whole lives outside with plenty of space to roam, wallow and be sociable.

When the piglets are weaned, they are moved into large outdoor paddocks.

Here, the piglets have the benefit of well bedded, cosy tents, while still being able to run around outside.

We have seen that comment a lot recently.

And yes - shell colour does not make an egg more natural, healthier or better by itself.

But the breed of hen, the way they are reared, the care they receive and the farming standards behind them all matter.

We have proudly supplied white eggs since 2022, after carefully choosing the breed of hen we felt was best for ๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ๐š๐ซ๐ž, ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ.

White-feathered hens can have a lower environmental impact than their brown-feathered friends, which is one of the reasons we chose this route.

We rear our hens in smaller groups, which is more costly, but allows us to look after them properly.

And weโ€™re proud that the care behind them has been recognised too, with our eggs receiving a ๐Ÿ-๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ซ ๐†๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ ๐“๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐.

That is the bit you do not always see when you crack an egg.
