today marks 1 year since we first viewed 4 Saville Row

here’s what it looked like back then — despite appearances, we fell in love immediately…. we knew we had our work cut out but we had a vision!

lots of new followers on here recently so thought we’d say hello 👋

we’re Matt + Georgia — we met whilst working together in Bristol back in 2016 + we’ve been eating | living | working together ever since

Matt is the chef/baker/food guy + I’m FoH/the one in charge of all the other stuff — it works because we could never do what the other does. but one thing we do share is a passion for good food + hospitality

even on our first date we talked about owning a restaurant one day, but it was 6 years ago that the idea of a bakery took hold + the idea of MORSO really started to form in our minds — we took our time getting here [with the intervening years mostly spent running a cookery school] but now we’ve got the most perfect home on Saville Row + we are loving it

we are joined by a fab team of wonderful talented people + have a lovely bunch of regulars already 🧡

6 weeks in…. there’s still lots more to come 🥐

a few pics from what has been a whirlwind of a start — a big thank you to everyone who has come to see us. Matt, myself + the whole team have been absolutely bowled over by the support 💕

but we are only just getting started, there’s so much more still to come….

let’s see how we/the dough can handle the heat this week though — we’re not blessed with air-con, so, as many others are doing, we may have to close early Wed + Thurs — will post any updates on stories

truth be told, the rest of the week was then a bit of a blur — selling out of pastries every day!? we’re still getting our heads around it…

but we really couldn’t have wished for a better first week — THANK YOU everyone for all the support 💕

the most stressful day on the hottest day 🥵🥵🥵

we’ve been stressing about getting equipment down into the kitchen for months and today was finally crunch time…

had we measured? of course, many many times.

did we measure correctly? no comment…

at one point today did i think “right, we’ll just have to be a coffee shop, no bakery”…? yes.

but thanks to Jarek, our go-to strong man, he made the impossible happen and we are now one big step closer to opening our doors 🙌

as well as helping us move house a few times, Jarek was also an absolute GODSEND when we were clearing out the cookery school — honestly cannot recommend enough 💪

it’s been hard keeping this a secret + we are SO excited to finally be sharing this with you all — 6 years after first talking about it, over a year since we started looking for premises, 9 longgggg months waiting to get the keys…. but as they say, good things come to those who wait…

introducing MORSO — a bakery, deli, cafe — somewhere you’ll find fresh bakes, sandwiches, salads, speciality coffee + more, in our stunning new home on Saville Row

we can’t wait to be sharing our food once again. and although we’ve dropped the ‘vegan’ from our name, everything will of course still be 100% vegan, always. but it’s 2026, it’s no big deal right!? good food is good food

we’ve got a fair bit of work to do before we can open the doors but we’ll be bringing you along with us, sharing updates as we go

it feels so good to be back! Georgia + Matt x
