Pedigree Herd of Polled Herefords breeding high health, performance recorded bulls and heifers

15/10/2026

Gouldingpoll 1 Ravette 738 was a particularly special cow! One we imported and bought from our good friend The Late Roy Beattie. In her few years with us she made a huge impact on our herd becoming a key donor cow and naturally breeding Ravette 1st and ‘Crackerjack’ who sells this Saturday!

Some lad, and he’s coming to a sale near you this week…

Midford 1 Crackerjack, Lot 6 at the Hereford Cattle Society Autumn Sale this Saturday at Shrewsbury Market!

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘔𝘪𝘥𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘸!

A proven bull used in our own herd, with cows scanned in-calf and Crackerjack fertility tested prior to sale. He has the most easy going biddable temperament, he’s such a nice guy!

🏆 Junior Male & Reserve Male Champion — National Poll Show 2025
🏆 Senior Pedigree Interbreed Champion — SW AgriFest
🏆 Male & Breed Champion — Royal Cornwall Show
🏆 Reserve Junior Male — Three Counties

A full brother to Midford 1 Ravette, National Calf Show Champion at Shrewsbury and female and reserve at Agri Expo. This is the same family that has bred 22,000gns Ravette and AI bull Nijinsky!

Our New One daughters have been calving in with consistently perfect udders! Hence most our herd is now Crackerjack’s sisters, otherwise we would keep and use him heavily!

Homozygous Polled. Proven. Fertile. BTV Vaccinated.

Some sass on this baby! Another Kate heifer calf from Ben this week. It’s a shame this calf is blocking it, because this 2nd calvers udder is perfect!

28/09/2026

After years of waiting, Ruby finally gave us a heifer calf and she’s a belter!

Our Ruby cow started with us as an Dendor embryo from the DGS sale and is a full sister to Nigel Owens bull ‘Dendor Sugar Ray’! After 3 sons in a row this heifer is very appreciated!

Delighted to see a couple of the standout heifers in the Goulding Legacy Sale are sired by Midford 1 Whizzbang!

Goulding Lucy 1547 PP, a daughter of Sky High Lancôme Lucy, a cow Matt bought from DGS, the same day we founded our Kate line!

Goulding Duchess 1548 PH, from the infamous Duchess line, she has Goldspice as a grandsire and the original Duchess ‘525’ as her grand-dam!

Delighted to kick off autumn calving with a heifer calf born unassisted from Dendor 1 Ben! The new calf ‘Kate 9th’, represents the 3 generation of Kate to be born with the Midford prefix!

Her dam is a 2.5 year old, Midford 1 Kate 6th who is sired by Kinglee 1 The New One and has a fantastic tidy udder with great milk as we’ve seen from every single ‘New One’ daughter so far!

We have our final ‘New One’ son ‘Crackerjack’ for sale at the autumn sale in a few weeks time…

The first of 3 on offer from Mark & Maddie, this is a seriously strong bodied powerful ewe! But that power doesn’t stop her having heaps of style and sass. Sired by Marlbrook Django and from a fantastic Marlbrook ewe too! This is one to be excited about…

🐼 𝗟𝗼𝘁 𝟰𝟳 - 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗲
A flashy, super sharp gimmer with a great body and plenty of scope! She’s from one of our foundation ewes which goes back to the Lax and Woodhouse flocks. Her sire is Deinol Dewi who also sired our show yearling this year Midford Flare.

🐼 𝗟𝗼𝘁 𝟴𝟭 - 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗶
Super styling lamb, only shown on two occasions but picked up a 1st at Bath and West and 3rd at 3 Counties! She is the first lamb to be offered by Marlbrook Django the National champion from 2025! Making her a sister to Glare who had a great show season before selling to the Calcott flock.
