We’re making a few changes to our opening hours at Marcio’s - giving our family a little more time together, while still making sure there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy your favourite Italian dishes. ❤️

But there’s one thing we really want to shout about...

🥂 Planning a private event? We can open especially for you - even on the days we’re normally CLOSED!
For private celebrations and events of 10+ guests, we’re happy to discuss opening Marcio’s exclusively for your group on our usual closed days.

Think birthdays, anniversaries, family get-togethers, celebrations, work meals or simply an excuse to gather your favourite people around a table for beautiful Italian food, w**e and plenty of time together. 🍝🍷

So if the date you have in mind falls on one of our closed days, please don’t rule us out!

At Marcio’s Italian Restaurant | Trattoria Contemporanea Di Marcio, our philosophy is simple: good food made from scratch, with care, skill and the passion of Chef Marcio, who has dedicated more than 30 years to what he loves — cooking and creating.

Whenever possible, Chef Marcio is happy to offer flexibility at the table — leaving out an ingredient, adding something you love or adapting a dish to your taste. And when service allows, he may even create something different, there and then, especially for you.

Because we believe a great dining experience doesn’t have to be the same for everyone.

Enjoy good food, a glass of w**e and a simple, rustic and characterful setting, filled with colour and the warmth of home — whether for lunch, dinner or a special celebration.

For the past three and a half years, as a family-run business, we have been shaping our restaurant little by little, year by year. From our dining spaces to our front and back gardens, every change is part of the atmosphere we are creating.

And none of it would be possible without you.

An intimate à la carte Sunday lunch for a maximum of just 25 guests, created for those who want to slow down and choose something a little more special.

Chef Marcio’s cooking has a particular passion for meat, fish and pasta. Dishes are prepared from scratch using fresh, quality ingredients, giving each dish the time and care that good food deserves.

“I took my parents for dinner last night, my father had always told me he had heard good things about this quaint family owned and run restaurant.
The restaurant is of an intimate size, making it idea for special family celebrations, romantic dinner, or if you just want some amazing italian cuisine.
Overall we had an amazing evening, filled with great food, accompanied with great w**e.
The food and w**e selection is top notch.
Admittedly we did have to wait for the dishes ordered, but this is down to everything being freshly prepared and cook on demand.

We’re very sorry, but unfortunately we will have to remain closed this evening.

Following the incident on Tuesday, some essential repairs are required at the restaurant. Unfortunately, these repairs need to be carried out urgently and at short notice, which means we won’t be able to open this evening as planned.

We apologise for any inconvenience and really appreciate your understanding.

We’ll be back open as normal tomorrow and throughout the weekend — Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It was a privilege to welcome our Mayor once again for lunch today, this time alongside Natalie Christian-John, Chair of Bedford & Kempston Conservatives and already a much-valued regular guest of ours.

This was the Mayor’s fourth visit, and although I usually prefer to respect the privacy of our guests, this time I couldn’t resist asking for a photo to mark the occasion.
