After a two-week hiatus thanks to the heatwave 🥵 jacket potatoes are officially back on the menu this week!

The temperature has finally dipped below 30°C, which means it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a proper home cooked lunch without melting into your chair😅

The sun is still shining, the cafetiere’s brewing, the cakes are waiting and our giant jacket potatoes are ready to make their comeback🌞☕🥔

Last week was one of the toughest we’ve had in a long time.
The heatwave was hard enough, but having our walk-in fridge break down on top of that made things incredibly difficult. As a fresh produce shop, we simply can’t shut up early - fresh fruit and veg doesn’t wait, so we’ve been here every day for our usual hours, doing everything we can to keep going.
Sadly, we’ve had to throw away far more vegetables than we’d ever want to. With fewer than half our usual customers coming through the door, it has been heartbreaking to see so much good produce go to waste.
Running a small independent business isn’t just a job to us. It’s early mornings, long days, hard work and a lot of sweat, stress and determination. We pour everything we have into this shop because we genuinely care about providing fresh, affordable produce to our community.
To everyone who came in last week, bought your fruit and veg, shared a kind word or supported us in any way - thank you. You have no idea how much it means to us and you are the reason we’re still here.
Small businesses everywhere are facing huge challenges and we’re no exception. Without regular support from our local community, it’s becoming harder and harder to survive in the current climate.
If you’ve been meaning to pop in, we’d love to see you this week. Every customer, every purchase and every recommendation to a friend genuinely makes a difference.

For a greengrocer, we do a remarkable job of never posting fruit and veg! 🍒

So here’s a towering reminder of what our bread and butter really is (ironically not bread or butter): fresh produce.

Straight from Spain, these cherries have interrupted our regularly scheduled carb programming🍒🇪🇸

After a last-minute postponement, we’re pleased to say that will now be joining us this Sunday 14th June from 9am 🙌

Thank you for bearing with us - good things are worth waiting for and their incredible baked goods certainly are!

Expect a tempting selection of freshly baked favourites, including:

A week back from our holiday and we just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU ❤️

As a small business, closing the doors for a holiday is always a bit nerve-racking. You never quite know what to expect when you come back, so to return to such incredible support has meant more to us than you know.
You’ve kept us so busy that you’ve practically eaten us out of house and home! 🤣 Several of our eatery favourites sold out during the week, and we’ve been scrambling to keep up with demand!
We’re now here full-time until the end of the year and can’t wait to catch up with our regulars and welcome plenty of new faces too.
Thank you for every visit, every order and every recommendation. Your support means the world to us and never goes unnoticed! 🥬🌽
