Not bad for a 30s listen whilst checking the cows. Today the cows didn’t need moving as give lots yesterday but still a good check over. And with it being a bit later in the morning all the birds were out in song.
Here at Puddleditch we farm with nature so not using sprays, inorganic fertilisers or chemicals, we also limit the amount of medicines given to the animals unless they need it. Limiting parasite treatments means more untreated manure for all those dung beetles and insects that are the foundation to so much.

The bull has been out with the cows for a week now. This year we welcomed Andrew to the herd, another red Angus all the way from Ireland. We hope he brings lots of new genetics and we have lots of his calves next spring.

The cows with calves and lambs with ewes are out in the day but come in at night. They love the dry sunny days and are fine with a bit of cold as long as dry and have a full tummy of milk.

Spring feels like it has sprung here at Puddleditch, with plenty of calves and labs now safely arrived.
Although they say in like a lamb out like a lion so we still expect some tough weather to come. Also this stage can be know as fake spring but if it means the cows and sheep are out it seems to be working here!
