Did an amazing food tour with ‘Ten tastings of Columbo with Locals’. My guide Shiva got me to try things I had never had in places I would never have found alone.
Highlights include possibly my most delicious samosa ever from a short eats cafe washed down with sweet black tea, some incredible fruits that were sour salty and spicy in 1 - mango, olives, pineapple and guava from a street vendor and some fresh cassava chips from a man in a booth at the market who was mandolining the chips straight into a wok of oil.
We also went to 2 other cafes for rice and curries and paratha and daal & ginger beer and stopped at another booth to have a sugar and coconut concoction wrapped in a huge leaf along with a milky tea plus a fresh coconut at a coconut drive through! , a mango and red banana - phew!

It’s fun to find different things to do with leftovers.
These include croquettes of bread sauce and bubble and squeak served with a chilli & creme fraiche sauce and cranberry.
Making katsu with Turkey and Turkey alternative and serving that with fresh veg and curry sauce
Making a soup with stock, left over veg & fresh veg plus Turkey and maybe adding a spicy flavour to it
Lastly a stir fry with both left over Turkey and Chinese takeaway cooked as a stir fry served on lettuce

The difficulty with a Xmas lunch is getting everything to be ready at once. I find it helpful to have a list with timings working backwards from serving time.
As well as Turkey I like to add a spread of accompaniments: stuffing ( one veg, one sausage), the roasts ( potatoes and parsnips or sweet potato or beetroot) a mashed veg ( swede or carrot) one with a sauce ( cauliflower cheese) Brussels sprouts sautéed with chestnuts, cranberry sauce and gravy - also the veg alternative to Turkey
