🥺❤️ 7 LITTLE LIVES ARE WAITING FOR A SAFE PLACE TO CALL HOME… CAN YOU HELP?

We’ve been asked to offer a forever home to seven sugar gliders, and we’re determined to give them the life they deserve. ❤️

These beautiful little animals have already been given a second chance by a wonderful lady who rescued them from someone who simply didn’t understand their complex needs.

Sadly, this is the reality for far too many exotic animals.

💔 Sugar gliders might be tiny and adorable, but they’re not cuddly pocket pets. They’re intelligent, social, nocturnal animals who need specialist diets, companionship and plenty of space to climb, leap and glide.

They deserve so much more than a life confined to an unsuitable cage.

At Naylor’s Ark, we want to give these seven a spacious, naturalistic home where they can express their natural behaviours.

But we want their rescue to mean something bigger, too. 🌿

Through carefully managed educational experiences, we hope to help children and adults understand the realities of exotic animal ownership and why researching an animal’s needs before bringing it home is so important.

Because education today could prevent another animal needing rescue tomorrow. ❤️

🛠️ THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP…

We need approximately 30 metres of suitable mesh to create their new enclosure.

Naylor’s Ark receives no regular external funding. Everything we do, from rescuing animals to providing educational opportunities, relies on the generosity of people who believe these animals deserve better.

🎃👹 CAN YOU FEED THE HUNGRY MONSTER?! 👀

Our Home Education group have been busy bringing one of our Halloween trail tricks to life this week… and we think they’ve done a MONSTER of a job! 🤩👏

🎨 This week’s creativity came with a little learning too! We explored colour theory, primary colours and how mixing colours creates new shades, putting our newfound knowledge into practice as we painted our very own hungry monster!

He’s just one of the tricks waiting for you on our Halloween Trick or Treat Trail, designed and created by our wonderful Home Education group and Hereward College students! 🕸️🍬

For some girls, school is overwhelming, friendships are difficult and social situations can feel exhausting.

But animals don’t expect eye contact, force conversations or judge awkward silences. 🥹❤️

That’s why we’re so excited to be teaming up with Blossom and Belong CIC to offer something special for girls experiencing anxiety, autism, school avoidance, social isolation or mental health struggles.

🐷 Rub our pigs’ tummies
🐑 Cuddle and groom our sheep
🐐 Feed our cheeky goats
🦙 Make friends with our alpacas

No pressure. No expectations. Just animals, kindness and connection. 🌸

🐷💕 WE’VE CREATED A MONSTER… A VERY CUTE, VERY DEMANDING MONSTER! 😂

After weeks of trying to convince our piggies that we are, in fact, friends and not terrifying two-legged creatures… we’ve FINALLY won them over! 🥹❤️

Unfortunately, nobody warned us about the consequences of gaining a pig’s trust…

What started as a little tummy rub has now turned into a full-time job. Apparently, once you start rubbing a piggy’s belly, you’re NOT allowed to stop. 😂🐽

We’ve gone from desperately trying to earn their affection to being held hostage by a pig who demands unlimited belly rubs.

And yes… we’re absolutely going to continue enabling this behaviour. 🥹🤣

🎃👻 THE HALLOWEEN MAGIC IS BEGINNING… AND BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN! 🕷️🧙‍♀️

A wonderful group of students from Hereward College have been busy creating some SPOOKTACULAR decorations for our Halloween Trick or Treat Trail! 🕸️🖤

For those who don’t know, Hereward College supports young people with disabilities and additional needs, and we’re so proud to have their creativity, hard work and imagination bringing our little sanctuary to life this Halloween! 🥹❤️

Alongside our Home Education group, they’ve been helping create a Halloween experience that’s fun, inclusive and suitable for children who might find traditional trick or treating overwhelming. 💚

🎟️ TRAIL SPACES ARE NOW OPEN TO BOOK!

🍬 £10 per child – complete the tricks, collect your treats, meet our animals and claim your prize!

🎃 Optional pumpkin picking and carving for an additional £5 – and you can feed the insides to our animals!

❤️ But there’s something even more important behind this event…

We’re a tiny, independent animal sanctuary with no external funding, and winter is one of our hardest times. Every single booking helps us keep our gates open, our animals fed and our community programmes running.

Our young people are putting so much love into creating this experience, and we’d absolutely love for you to come and see what they’ve achieved. 🥹

This week we welcomed the Foundation Group from Hereward College for their very first visit to Naylor’s Ark… and they got stuck in straight away. 💚

First visits can always feel a little unfamiliar, especially when you’re coming somewhere new with new people, new animals and a completely different environment — but it didn’t take long before the group were exploring, meeting the animals, sharing ideas and starting to make the place feel like theirs too.

And for their first project with us, we’ve given them something pretty exciting… 👀

They’re helping us design and create our SEN-friendly Halloween Trick or Treat Trail for October half term. 🎃🕷️👻

Hereward College is a specialist college in Coventry supporting young people with disabilities and additional needs to build confidence, independence, life skills and experience for the future.

Rather than giving them a pretend classroom project, we wanted them to work on something real.

Their ideas will become decorations.
Their designs will become activities.
Their work will become part of an experience that families will actually come and enjoy.

And that matters to us.

For some children, traditional trick or treating can be noisy, unpredictable and overwhelming. We want to create something where they can still enjoy the excitement of Halloween, but in a way that feels calmer, more accessible and less pressured.

Who better to help us shape that than young people who understand that sometimes the world just needs to be designed a little differently? 💚

There’ll still be plenty of silliness, spooky surprises, animals, tricks and treats… and judging by the ideas already coming out of visit number one, we may have given them slightly too much creative freedom. 😂👀

Their finished Halloween trail will be open at Naylor’s Ark during October half term.

We already can’t wait to see what they create. 🎃✨

🐷🔑 THERE’S NO FAVOURITISM AT NAYLOR’S ARK… BUT SOMEONE MIGHT WANT TO TELL THE PIGS! 👀😂

This week at Home Ed Club, we started with plenty of cuddles, chaos and quality time with the animals before getting our creative brains working! 🐮🐷❤️

With Halloween and Christmas just around the corner, our little learners have started planning their very own keyring designs in preparation for their enterprise projects over the next couple of months! 🎃🎄

The best bit? Watching their confidence grow as they share their ideas, put pen to paper and start figuring out how to bring their creations to life.

There are no wrong ideas here! We want our young people to feel confident enough to dream something up, have a go, make mistakes, solve problems and feel that amazing sense of achievement when they can say “I MADE THAT!” 🥹❤️

Although we’re beginning to suspect our newest residents have been doing a bit of campaigning behind the scenes… because there are an AWFUL lot of pig keyrings being designed. 🐷👀😂

We can’t wait to see what everyone creates over the coming weeks!

Liberty broke her phone, so you’ve all enjoyed a rare few days without us clogging up your newsfeeds with animals doing absolutely nothing of importance. 🤣

Unfortunately, she’s back, she’s got a LOT of catching up to do, and you’re all about to be absolutely SPAMMED with everything you’ve missed. Consider this your warning! 😂❤️
