Our Globe Artichokes are ready!
This year I have saved a couple for us, as last year they sold out in 2 days!
If you would like to get your grubby mitts on this year's haul, message me .

60p each or £3.50 for a bag of 6 .

They are one of the oldest cultivated foods, first eaten in the Middle East before being propagated by the Romans and Greeks

During the height of the Roman Empire, only the wealthy were legally allowed to eat artichokes. Catherine de Medici is credited with introducing them to the French court in the 1500s.

Artichokes contain cynarin and sesquiterpene-lactones, natural compounds that have been shown to improve liver function and help lower cholesterol.

They are very low in fat and calories, but high in dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and folic acid and utterly delicious .
