🌾 We'd love your thoughts! 🐾

One of the things we love most about our fields is seeing dogs enjoy them in different ways. Some of our own dogs absolutely love bounding through longer grass, playing hide and seek and "pogoing" through the wild areas! 💚

We know, however, that every dog is different. While some love exploring longer grass, others (especially our spaniel friends! 🐶) can find it less practical.

At the moment, all of our fields (apart from Walkington) have areas of longer grass and wildlife habitat. These areas are great for encouraging nature, supporting wildlife and giving dogs a different environment to explore.

So we'd love to hear from you...

For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that no smoking takes place on our dog fields. 🚭🐾

With the ground being so dry, a discarded cigarette could easily start a fire, putting our dogs, visitors, and the surrounding countryside at risk.

☀️🐾 Hot Weather Reminder 🐾☀️

Please take extra care when using the dog fields during warmer weather 🌡️

Dogs can overheat very quickly, especially when they’re running around having fun, so we’d recommend:

💧 Bringing plenty of fresh water
🐶 Taking regular breaks in the shade
🌳 Avoiding the hottest parts of the day where possible
🐾 Watching for signs of overheating such as excessive panting, slowing down or lethargy
🚗 Never leaving dogs in the car before or after your session

Some dogs don’t always know when to stop, so it’s important we help keep them safe while they enjoy the fields 💛

And as always, please remember to pick up after your dogs and leave the field tidy for the next visitor 😊

A little moment from the farm this week.

The crops are looking really well this year, and it’s hard not to feel hopeful standing out there at the moment.

Especially when you think back to a couple of years ago, when the oilseed r**e didn’t survive the winter and the rest of the crops struggled after all the rain.

Funny how quickly the bad years fade when things start going right again 😅

That’s farming though, every year brings another chance.

A good reminder for life too.

For the first time ever, all 6 fields are now open full time (7am–9pm) which feels like a bit of a milestone for us!

With everything up and running and the ground finally dried out, we do currently have some weekday daytime availability.

If you’ve been thinking about booking, now’s a great time, it’s generally quieter, there’s plenty of space, and the fields are looking much more like spring than winter.

Far Ings Opens This Sunday!

We’re delighted to announce that Far Ings, our largest field yet at an incredible 7 acres, will officially be opening this Sunday!

Far Ings is a beautiful flat field, giving you and your dogs plenty of space to run, train and explore. It sits alongside Near Ings, with a 10-metre gap between the two fields and 98% shade mesh on both fences. The fencing layout means dogs cannot see each other, helping to create a calm, distraction-free and secure environment for your session.

While there is currently no play equipment in this field, we’ll be adding some once the ground dries up. For now, Far Ings is all about wide open space and freedom to roam.

As with our other fields, Far Ings includes a tap, dog wash and optional in-field parking for your convenience.

Due to its size, we’ll be offering Far Ings as hour-long bookings only. We feel 30 minutes just wouldn’t do this space justice, and an hour gives you plenty of time to truly enjoy everything this huge field has to offer!

We’re delighted to be part of the panel discussion at the Yorkshire Farming Conference 🌾

We’ll be taking part in a discussion and Q&A on farm diversification, sharing our experiences of running other businesses alongside our arable farm.
