New supplies of our 100% pasture fed Dexter Beef will be available from the farm from tomorrow. It will be available fresh for the rest of the week and over the weekend, thereafter it will be frozen.

Farm shop is open on Tuesdays 1pm-2pm, Saturdays 9am-10am

So wonderful to see swallows and martins enjoying the new pond here on the farm! These incredible photos were taken by one of our volunteers, Dave Roach, who has spotted them collecting mud in their beaks to make their nests with. It has been really beneficial, especially on hotter days, for them to have access to the the water and mud.

Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful evening strolling around our orchards, forest garden and market garden. It's amazing the number of edible crops you can grow that you just don't find in the supermarkets. Did you know our apple orchards are home to around 50 different varieties? We turn these into a range of delicious apple juices to be enjoyed year round, available direct from the farm every Saturday 9-10am.

Recently we have been discussing running some workshops on the farm as we would love to share what we are doing with the community in different ways. This would be more on the growing side of things rather than animal husbandry. We would love to know if this interests anybody and if so, what specifically people would like to know more about?

Would you like to grow some veg at home but don't know where to start? Have you tried to grow your own but not had the results you hoped for? Would you like a simpler system to fit around your busy life, that didn't need so much watering or maintenance? Perhaps you are interested in how to compost your kitchen waste or you'd love to have a wormery?

With springs arrival another cycle is complete. It hasn't been the easiest of winters following on from such a hot, dry summer. Winter forage supplies were very short this winter throughout the country. We just about had enough hay to supplement our cows through winter and are relieved to see them back on 100% fresh pasture.
From browsing trees in the heat of summer to daily moves throughout the year we're building resilience into our system all the time.

The volunteers have been busy this week, mulching around various fruit bushes and edible plants that make up the forest garden. We look forward to harvesting these tasty fruits in the months to come!
