All our animals are reared outside and we firmly believe in a happy lifestyle for them that creates fantastic tasting meat. Our pigs are housed outdoors and root in the earth and given fresh fruit and vegetables, our chickens are on pasture and our sheep graze on grass instead of being forced to eat grain. We use a local abattoir, so any travel for our animals is as stress free as possible and we
do not use growth hormones, antibiotics or medicated feed. Our hope is that more and more people are interested in how their food and other farm-based products are produced and thankfully there does seems to be an increasing demand for healthy, organic sustainably grown food. We only rear rare breed pigs and sheep, to keep the native breeds going and to avoid the commercial market. It takes time for our animals , especially the pigs to grow. Modern farming methods speeds the process up but results in the tasteless produce you may find in the supermarkets. If you have the opportunity and the means to buy better meat, you will really taste it, but be because we have kept ourselves small and true to what we believe in with our animal
There is full traceability of our meat and eggs to the farm. It is for us the only way to guarantee that we are proving the best products - meat and eggs tasted from animals living the lives they deserve to live. We offer a free delivery service on a Friday morning and the farm is open on a Friday afternoon and Saturday and Sunday mornings for pick ups.
