Animal & Farm Learning at Sweetlands Farm 🌳

We have a couple of spaces available for the remainder of this term.

Tuesdays at 10:00am
1½-hour sessions
Available dates:
• 23 June
• 30 June
• 7 July
• 14 July
• 21 July

Children will enjoy hands-on learning with our ponies, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and other farm animals, taking part in animal care, practical farm tasks, nature-based activities and outdoor learning.

These small-group sessions are designed to build confidence, responsibility, communication and practical skills through real-life experiences with animals and the countryside.

Families booking all five sessions in advance will receive a discounted introductory rate.

We will also be running some Animal & Farm Learning sessions during the summer holidays.

From September 2026 term we will be launching our regular Animal & Farm Learning programme, including an optional AQA Unit Award Scheme pathway for children and young people wishing to work towards recognised achievement certificates.

More exciting news for Sweetlands Farm! 🌟

We’re delighted to have become an approved AQA Unit Award Scheme Centre and are excited about the opportunities this will create for children to learn through horses, farm animals and the countryside.

Learners who complete units receive an official AQA certificate - a nationally recognised award that celebrates what they've achieved.

We’ll be sharing more information and details how to book our new Animal & Farm Learning programme over the coming weeks, including summer holiday sessions and plans for September 2026 term 🌿

Riding schools are the grassroots route into the equestrian industry for so many children — giving opportunities to ride, learn responsibility, build confidence and simply spend time around horses they may otherwise never have access to.

With over 200 riding schools reported to have closed since Covid, the pressures on the industry are very real. Rising costs, insurance, licensing, welfare standards and day-to-day running all continue to increase behind the scenes.

We’re incredibly proud to still be here as a family-run 5★ licensed riding school, continuing to grow and evolve for the next generation. Some very exciting news coming soon.

Sometimes it’s outside, beside an animal, where things begin to change.

Animals don’t judge, rush or expect explanations.
They respond to patience, consistency and trust — and for many children that can feel incredibly powerful.
