🍺 Reckless Dweeb Brew Co 2026 🍺
I hope every one of you has had a pleasant start to the new year. I've been trying to write something to put out but haven't been able to sum up my thoughts accurately so instead I shall ramble away and hope it ends up being coherent.
As I'm sure you are aware the hospitality sector is being screwed over from pretty much every angle it can be. It is honestly upsetting to watch it in real time. Breweries, pubs, bars, bottle shops, restaurants and pretty much all small businesses are being squeezed and put under incredible pressure to survive that I don't think we experienced even during covid.
This coupled with a variety of personal factors means I have little or no time to give to dweeb hq and being completely honest the thought of jumping in deeper is quite scary.
Reckless Dweeb Brew Co has always been a silly hobby that very quickly, got very out of hand. I know this is the case for a lot of the brewing familia. I've always referred to myself as an idiot in a garage, but I have a full time job and a young family. Any spare time or energy I had, I put into making slightly off piste beer that (hopefully) you all enjoyed and tried to build something a little different.
To cut to the chase, I am taking a break and putting a hold on the business. No brewing will be done for a while and no plans will be made for any festival appearances or tap takeovers this year. During this time I will continue to muddle it all over and decide whether to carry on as we are with limited releases of super fun stuff or to wind down and sell up.
There may be the odd collab appear and I will continue to do my best to support the outstanding breweries & pubs around us, that work so very hard to bring a little joy into our lives. You'll most likely still see me (and the MVP, Big Dave) out and about as per the norm.
So smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!
