Prototype to finished product. For dad’s wake I wanted to do something a bit different…I had the idea of cheesecakes and chocolate truffles being made into edible pool chalk and the balls being Ferraro bombs. Mum always makes the bombs she’s chief chocolate maker. I wish I’d have had time to do much more for the old lad but we only had 7 hours to make it all from scratch. Apart from Costco cake cus I love a Costco choccy cake 😂

Alright gang. As dad decided to be a complete narna and pop his cloggs, we never got round to converting the van fully, he did everything he could but it’s evident that he wasn’t able to do as much recently due to unknowingly having heart failure, I’d like to be able to get it to the point I can utilise it in his honour for all he has done for me, it was the topic of many a conversation to get me back out doing what I love rather than getting sick working all the hours for everyone else and putting my dreams on hold. One of the last things he said was just quit instead of getting so sick. We don’t have as much income now and I’ll likely have to get a third job fit in somewhere in my 18 hour days as is to pay for it as well as cake and desserts but if anyone can recommend anyone that can help…I just can’t afford 20-30k to get one beautifully done so I’ll have to do as a self build, with absolutely no clue what I’m doing. So if you know anyone I can pay to help hit me up 🤟✌️❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday was the hardest day in mine and mommas life when we unexpectedly lost poppa duggery. Thank you to CI for acknowledging all the work that dad did for shows behind the scenes. I couldn’t be prouder of the things the man has created with little acknowledgment as he liked to stay under the radar, but creating a 7ft mechanical dragon on a bike frame for the cake to be added later on, all the stuff for the worlds first interactive cake feature and all the structures he built for collabs nevermind driving me to the show at stupid o’clock and running me everywhere, the late nights and early mornings are times I’ll cherish with him forever. Thank you Melv and all at CI for your acknowledgment of him, it truly means the world that people can see the man that I loved with every part of my heart. Never could I be prouder of the person I called my poppa bear, my best mate, the other part of my brain. I’m not sure how we’ll go on without him but I hope I made him proud. Love you popsicle, my hero!

And to add to that previous post I’m super excited that at we have been nominated for afternoon tea venue too. I started there a year ago with the concept of making food fresh for the cafe and pushing food for events, it’s been a long road, especially being at the restaurant and having the desserts business too but hopefully things will all start fitting into place. This acts as a reminder to me that things often don’t work, trial and error and a constant want to learn and be better are prominent factors of starting something you’re not used to.

Our afternoon teas change with the seasons as well as different themes in line with events at the venue. The price is competitive currently starting at £20pp but are fully adaptable, it makes no difference whether I work through the night for an afternoon tea for 2 or for 100, the passion that goes into making the experience positive for the customer will never falter as long as I am there.

As always thanks to momma bear for always assisting in my baking brain farts.

Thanks to my chief scone maker! It’s wonderful to have watched you grow in confidence and ability over the last couple of months. And the boss for putting up with me daily 😂 and the girls for organising FOH ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ well done team
