Wondering if you can help me a little bit 🤔😇

Whenever I do this sort of thing there’s usually loads of great feedback, so I know you won’t let me down!

Essentially what I want to know is this - when I restock our website, would you prefer variety or availability? 🤔

Naturally some items are going to be more popular than others, so I try to account for that, but recently I’ve noticed that the popular items are REALLY popular and that means the less popular items sell quite slowly.

I’ve always tried to offer as much variety as possible and I love that we now regularly have 30+ flavours on each restock, however if that means it’s harder for people to order the bakes they want most then it doesn’t really make sense 🤔

So I’m wondering whether it’s better to start making more of the popular items and reduce the variety we have on offer?

For example, instead of 6 brownie flavours, we could only have 3 but bake twice as many trays of those flavours - so in theory it becomes easier to order them.

Ultimately I think it’s a puzzle that I’ll never be able to get 100% right, but I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter ✌️

Here’s the lowdown for everyone planning to order tonight ⬇️⬇️⬇️

✅ website restocks at 7pm (www.jakescakesandbakes.co.uk

✅ as always, everything is 100% gluten free and coeliac safe (no gf oats!)

✅ all orders will be baked on Monday 7th September and dispatched on Tuesday 8th.

✅ we use Royal Mail Tracked 24, so 99% of orders will arrive on Wednesday 9th.

✅ if you live locally, you can collect your order on Tuesday or Wednesday 💪

I don’t usually post reviews or feedback because it feels like I’m bigging myself up, but this email was too lovely not to share 🥰

The customer in question got in touch because they were worried the all inclusive buffet wouldn’t have any decent puddings for their daughter - I was more than happy to help out because I firmly believe that a holiday isn’t a holiday without a sweet treat or 10!

I was “lucky” enough to develop dietary requirements when I was a bit older, but I can’t imagine what it must be like for a younger child to have to monitor what they’re eating while all their peers are eating whatever is put in front of them - hearing I’ve helped someone in that situation is one of my favourite things about doing what I do.

On a wider note, we live in a world where people are very quick to talk about negative experiences, but very rarely comment or leave reviews when they’ve had a positive experience - if there’s something you enjoy, shout about it to anyone that will listen. You never know what a difference it will make to someone’s day ❤️

Last day of August means it’s time to get excited for autumn 🙌🙌🙌

And getting excited for autumn means it’s time to start thinking about Halloween 👀 no one can tell me it’s too early because I’ve seen Christmas food in Sainsbury’s already 🤣

I’m really excited for Halloween this year! As you can see in the picture (last year’s Halloween box) we usually go fairly route one with it - Frankenstein faces and spooky colours etc - but this year I’m planning to go in a slightly different direction 😱

It’ll still be the same delicious treats you know and love, but the vibes are being spooked up to the max 🤩🤩🤩

I can’t wait to talk about it a bit more, for now though I need to know what flavours you think of when it comes to autumn/ Halloween?! 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Not cake related so forgive me 😇

Up until like two months ago I had absolutely zero interest in running but, in my quest to hit a few early 30’s stereotypes, I’ve recently started quite enjoying it 🤯

A whole year of Jake’s Cakes and Bakes in Stirchley! 😭😭😭

Exactly a year ago I picked up the keys to our little unit - its definitely been a learning curve but I’m sooooo glad I made the leap of faith 🙌🙌

My original plan for this post was to calculate exactly how many brownies we’ve made at the unit, I’ve had one hell of a day though (more on that at a later date) so these words and pictures will have to make do 🤣

The second one is, of course, where the magic happens 🪄

The first one is a prototype of one of our special 5th birthday flavours - a birthday cake stuffed cookie 😱😱😱
