So, Brewdog are for sale. Most in the industry have been predicting their demise for some time now. Probably to be bought out by some behemoth brewery like Heineken or AbInBev.
They strayed from the path, and it was going to end this way for a long time now.
It’s pretty tragic. Mismanagement. Misdemeanours, and worse.
…but let’s not forget, back in the old days, they were pioneers, making the best craft beer and definitely the best imperial stouts in the country.
They also seeded the industry with some of the best and most innovative brewers and bar managers out there.
So, whilst we shouldn’t weep at their demise, we should spare a thought for all the excellent staff that are now in limbo, and all those that went before.
I’ll be opening a bottle of something from their back-catalogue tonight, and remembering the good times.
