The latest edition to the Benromach signature collection is a lightly peated 12 year old single malt, matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks. A rich and complex profile, expect vibrant notes of fruitcake complemented by notes of raspberry and orange, with freshly cracked black pepper and a subtle hint of smoke, adding depth and balance to the finish.

Another great month of new releases! The Jackton Distillery shared with us their inaugural release, Sagamore brought their high rye bourbon to the UK, and Living Souls released a new batch of bottlings (our favourite was the Ninety-Nine & One Error #2 – love the story behind this).

Special mention to Fragrant Drops – another firm favourite at HTFW; they brought us three new editions in August, one being a remarkable high aged Cameronbridge.

Kilchoman Distillery was founded in 2005 on a working farm near the island’s west coast. It is one of the few remaining farm distilleries in Scotland, and is renowned for its smoky, peated single malt Scotch whiskies, a majority of which are bottled at cask strength.

The French 75 dates back to the early 20th century, and is widely associated with Paris during the First World War. Named after the French 75mm field gun, (an artillery piece used by the French army) its origins are often linked to Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, where it was popularised in the 1920s. The combination of gin, lemon juice, sugar, and Champagne gives the drink a lively “kick,” fittingly echoing the cocktail’s artillery inspired name.

Ingredients
30ml Gin
15ml Lemon Juice
15ml Simple Syrup
60ml Champagne

Method
Pour all the ingredients, except the Champagne, into a shaker. Shake well and stain into a Champagne flute. Pour in the Champagne and gently stir.
