🚧 Road Closures for Bishop Auckland's Christmas Town 2025 🚧

📅 Christmas Town arrives from 4-7 December, and there will be some temporary road closures to keep everyone safe.

🚓 Here is what you need to know:

❌The Market Place will be closed from 7pm on Tues 2nd Dec until 7am on Tues 9 Dec.
✅ Access from North Bondgate to Wear Chare, Silver Street, Castle Chare and Durham Road will remain open throughout, one way only.
❌Castle Chare will not be accessible from Durham Road.
❌Fore Bondgate will be closed to traffic during event opening hours.
✅ North Bondgate Car Park remains open as usual, but it is advised to use Kingsway Car Park over this period to avoid congestion.

🚌 Alternative travel:

❗ Market Place through roads, car parking, taxi rank and west-bound bus stops on North Bondgate will not be accessible during this period.
❗ Temporary taxi pick-up points will be clearly signposted.
❗ Alternative bus stops can be found around Tenters Street.
♿ Blue Badge parking remains accessible in North Bondgate Car Park.

Please note that the town centre will be particularly busy on Friday 5 December between 17:30 and 20:00 due to the Christmas Town Parade.

Parade will muster from 10.30am at Newgate Centre entrance, Newgate Street. It will depart no earlier than 10.45am
