After heavy winter rain and spring drought the seed bed wasn't good enough to drill in to today so we shall try again next week after all the heavy rain Sunday 🤞

Grass grows best at the correct length.
No shorter than a golf ball it needs the leaf area to get the energy from the sun.
No longer than a Guinness can as it will put its energy in to putting a seed head up when all you want is leaf.
Aim for coke can if you can

I've had a lot of enquiries about poached paddocks after the last couple of months of heavy rain — many areas are understandably very wet.
Could you please send me a photo of the area you’d like sorted? Fields dry out at different rates, so it’s important to assess conditions first. Ideally, we’re looking for the ground to be more “crumble” than “pudding” across most of the field before starting work.
The plan would usually be:
harrowing to level and open the surface
Overseeding where needed
Fertiliser if required
W**d spraying once the weather has warmed up further
Once I’ve seen a photo, I can advise on the best approach and timing.
