If you're interested in learning more about growing your own fruit and veg, we can help give you the know-how in a friendly and welcoming environment. It's all about improving health and wellbeing through healthier eating, physical activity and getting stuck in to enjoyable group activities. We provide sessions on topics including ground preparation, sowing and planting, maintenance, harvesting, cooking and eating, using our home grown produce

Our volunteers are having some great autumnal sessions at Grow Blackpool and N Vision this week. There’s a lot bulb planting, planting winter veg, propagating of plants and planning for the Apple Festival on the 28th of October 3pm to 6pm.
We have Myerscough college starting again this week delivering a horticulture course at Grow Blackpool each Wednesday Also left Coast offering a woodcraft workshop on Mondays or Tuesdays. We hope to see you at our Apple festival to try our delicious Apple treats. See pumpkin walk and seasonal food, music spooky Halloween stories, crafts and games. And lots of fun for everyone of any age.

A fun evening for families and volunteers to be had at our Apple festival at Grow Blackpool! 🍎 Our polytunnel will be glowing with lights on the 28th of October 3pm. We are celebrating Apples and pumpkins and the spooky season🎃Step into our enchanted cave where spine tingling tales will be shared by brilliant story tellers. Come and find our pumpkin treasure hunt. Local Art and craft exhibits 🍰 Enjoy our homemade cakes, hot chocolate, soup, giant apple crumble to warm you up, music and plenty of activities for all ages. Come and enjoy the magic.

A busy day at Grow Blackpool planting winter onions and garlic. Weeding and planting spring bulbs in the borders. Looking at Dragon flies . We’ve finalised plans for our Apple festival on the 28th of October. Everyone is welcome to come. We will share a poster here next week.

Another nice day at Grow Blackpool! We are doing all things with wood this week! Lots of beautiful objects are being created. Volunteers were making tool handles and made a chair with Bruno Schooling. the resident wood artist with Left Coast. Today we held a pyrography workshop, volunteers are making signs and objects to place around Grow Blackpool. Plenty of jobs too around the garden composting, potting and weeding too.

We have been enjoying autumnal fruitfulness today at Grow Blackpool. The squashes are still producing in the polytunnel and we have a massive crop of figs, tomatoes leeks and apples to come shortly. Grow Blackpool and the Grange has been bustling all day in the cafe and the polytunnels. It’s been a double birthday celebration for two lovely people Khristy and Sara. volunteers have been sorting out the leeks and our celeriac crop weeding before the rains came this evening. We will have plenty of soup for autumn. Lots of beautiful signs are being made for the garden in our pyrography workshop. Our brilliant garden volunteers have been clearing and composting all the dying back summer growth and pricking out the winter greens and planting garlic. We have also been collecting seeds around our local meadows.

We’ve been cooking at Grow Blackpool. Our volunteers made a delicious butternut soup on Tuesday for our volunteers from our vegetables. We roasted our veg in the outdoor pizza oven, which was enjoyed by everyone. Lots of work done in the polytunnels tidying up and harvesting. We held fun a pyrography session in the afternoon, making wooden signs for the garden.

Another nice day at Grow Blackpool. We are making signs for the garden using recycled wood and pyrography pens. We are also harvesting for the cafe and pressing flowers for future art activities. Lots of brews, fun and chats today.
Lots of organising for autumn and we are starting to prepare for the upcoming apple festival on the 29th of October
