That's the last few bottles of my Iron Age Mint Mead bottled.

Anything that doesn't sell by Monday (1st Jun) comes with me to Colchester, so if you want any before it disappears for a year, now's your chance.

Based on an archæological find from SW Germany dated to C5th BC. The Suebi Tribe brewed a mint mead and used it in a burial.

I didn't get a chance to post, today from the opening of the new Crannog at the Scottish Crannog Centre as I was too busy selling out on my Bronze Age Braggot.

However, I'll be selling my regular mead there on Saturday and Sunday.

Today I was also experimenting with brewing in an Iron Age style, using open fire and pots.

Although not for sale, today's effort will go on to be fermented to see how it compares to the braggot I brewed for sale.

While I'm in the deepest South (Barnsley - change my mind), Ace will be holding court at Pitlochry Farmers' Market with the new batches of Midsummer Mead (more Intense) and Lavender Mead (more delicate).

Im afraid there will be no Rookery stall and Perth ir Aberfeldy, this month as I'm in Whitby at the amazing Whitby Goth Weekend.

A wee note from some very good friends and an absolute craftsman who excels at what he does.

Hello all,

It’s been a while since we’ve posted, and we do apologise for our tardiness, but we have had a tremendous amount going on.

So, what has been going on? I suppose the big news is that The PewterScribe is no longer at Canal Street. This is due to circumstances beyond our control, but rest assured, we are still in business!! At this point in time, we are unable to provide some services. We can still do engraving, leatherwork, etc., but unfortunately, we cannot do any casting work at present. We hope to be up and running again very soon and hope all our loyal customers and friends will be understanding and bear with us at this difficult time.

The other thing we need to inform you all about is that neither of us is in the greatest of health at present. I am facing more spinal surgery and Katherine needs a joint replacement, so it is affecting both of our mobility. Sorry if this seems like a negative post, but we are still passionate about what we do and being out there to see you all. Please, next time we meet up, come and say hello! We really have missed seeing you and look forward to catching up on all your news.
