🏆 Behind the Scenes of the Love Local Trust Local Awards 2026

While the awards night may be in September, there’s already a huge amount happening behind the scenes.

Our judges are busy preparing for the next stage of the process, reviewing entries, planning visits and getting ready to meet some of the incredible independent businesses, producers, makers, growers and hospitality venues that make Dorset so special.

The Love Local Trust Local Awards are about far more than trophies. They are about celebrating provenance, recognising hard work, championing quality and shining a spotlight on the people who are passionate about what they do.

Every entry is carefully considered, every visit is undertaken with the LLTL ethos at its heart, and every judge generously gives their time to help ensure the process is fair, thorough and meaningful.

Over the coming weeks, our judges will be travelling across Dorset, discovering inspiring stories, meeting passionate business owners and seeing first-hand the dedication that goes into growing, rearing, making, baking, brewing, cooking and proudly selling local.

We can’t wait to share more of the journey with you.

🚜 Food starts on a farm, not on a shelf.

That’s why events like Open Farm Sunday are so important.

They give children and families the chance to step onto a real working farm, meet the people who produce our food, and see first-hand what goes into growing, rearing and making it.

By connecting the next generation with farming, we help them understand where their food comes from, appreciate the hard work behind it, and build a stronger connection to the countryside that feeds us all.

📰 We’re delighted to feature in the June edition of Dorset Life following a fantastic weekend at the Dorset Spring Show, where we had the opportunity to celebrate and showcase some of the incredible people behind Dorset’s food, farming and rural economy.

From passionate producers and farmers to educators and food champions, the demonstration theatre was packed with conversations about provenance, sustainability and why supporting local really matters.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, ask questions and share their own local stories. Dorset is home to an extraordinary community of growers, makers, bakers, brewers and producers, and it’s a privilege to help shine a spotlight on their work.

As we move into the judging phase of the Love Local Trust Local Awards 2026, we’re looking forward to celebrating even more of the businesses that make Dorset such a special place to live, work and visit.
