We’ve had so many great conversations, plenty of cheese tasting, and lots of people discovering Cornish producers they hadn’t come across before.

It has been wonderful seeing visitors enjoy lunch while browsing our selection of local cheeses, chutneys, preserves, sauces, biscuits and other Cornish favourites.

Every purchase supports local producers and helps keep more value within Cornwall’s food economy.

If you’re a food producer in Cornwall, this is for you.

We’re mapping what ingredients are being used across the sector, where they’re coming from, and where there are real opportunities to source more locally.

We’re also looking at what’s missing:
• processing facilities
• development kitchens
• supply chain gaps

This is about building a practical, evidence-based picture of what the sector actually needs.

It’s quick to complete and will directly shape what comes next.

If you are in South East Cornwall, you are welcome to attend a round table event on Friday 24th in Liskeard (one of 6 events in Cornwall during the year) where we will be discussing this with the local MP. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/roots-to-resilience-south-east-cornwall-round-table-tickets-1986532703793?aff=oddtdtcreator

Are you a farmer, grower or food business in Cornwall?

Cornwall Gateway CIC is bringing people together in Liskeard to look at a simple but important question:

👉 What do we grow locally, what do we use, and where are the gaps?

This isn’t a talking shop. It’s a practical session to:
• map what’s already being produced
• understand what food businesses actually need
• explore how we can strengthen local supply chains

If you grow, rear, make or use food in Cornwall, your input matters.

This is the first of a series of round table sessions across Cornwall, helping to build a clear picture of what’s needed to support a stronger, more resilient local food system.

Grow local. Make local. Use local.

This matters now more than ever.

We’re lucky to have incredible food producers right here in Cornwall, but much of what we eat still comes from elsewhere.

If we can grow it here, why aren’t we using it here?

Roots to Resilience is about bringing farmers, growers and food businesses together to start closing that gap.

It’s a simple idea, use more of what we already have, support local, and build something stronger for the future.

Grow local. Make local. Use local.

Cornwall produces incredible food, yet much of what we eat comes from elsewhere.

That’s not a capability problem.
It’s a connection problem.

Farmers grow it.
Food businesses need it.
But the system in between isn’t working as it should.

Roots to Resilience is about closing that gap.

We’re bringing together farmers, growers, producers and food businesses to map:
• what we grow locally
• what we actually use
• and where the gaps are

Because if we can grow it here, why are we not using it here?

This is about building the evidence to make the case for change, and the investment in infrastructure needed to deliver it.

If you’re part of Cornwall’s food system, your insight will help shape that evidence.

Let’s start connecting what we grow with what we use.
