Mick has put this, but as the boss 😂 I will have the last word:
We both feel very sad about saying goodbye to the only thing we have know for the last 8years. We have loved meeting such wonderful people, grateful for all of the support we have received and feel lucky to have been to so many lovely places. Each and every event will stay close in our hearts forever.
Yes it’s been tough at times but the fun, laughter and love has always made it worth it.
Unfortunately it has taken its toll on us, coz it ain’t just the event day that’s hard, it’s all of the behind the scenes stuff that nobody sees. We have so much respect for every caterer who we know, you are all legends.
Lastly I want to say how utterly proud I am of Mick Browning for starting the business on his own, attending events in all weathers, to pulling the restaurant through Covid and then getting back on the road again to keep his passion alive and the clients happy. Now it’s your time to rest (well sort of, I have a house to sort out! 😂) We will remember our journey and now move onto our next chapter: enjoying seeing others working their butts off at events and us hitting the road in our camper van!
Thank you all once again and we love you all xx

And that’s a wrap, quite literally. Last Burrito made, last chip fried. I kind of wished that I had kept a tally of the amount of Burritos I’ve made in the last 10 years but sadly I’ve no idea, many many thousands for sure. 10 years of hard graft in all weathers and seasons has taken its toll on the body and we never truly got to enjoy the events that we were at because we were so busy making a living. To all the customers and event organisers, thank you for an amazing ride, you are all awesome and to all of the vendors we have traded alongside, thanks for the food and friendship, we love you all. Staff wise I am so grateful to you all, especially one lady who propped me up in 2017 when things went very sideways in my personal life, you know who you are and we are friends for life xx. The biggest thank you is to Jenny Browning who came along in the second year of the business and without her belief, drive and support I wouldn’t have been where I ended up, a very successful mobile caterer, she has been my biggest fan and the absolute power behind me, pushing me to do that extra hour when I’m exhausted and standing right beside me the whole way through it whilst battling her own health issues in the background, she never faltered or let me down, I truly am a lucky man.
So there it is, just need to deep clean the trailer and sell it to someone else to make a living with but the name remains with me, I own the copyright. Is this truly the end for Hey Amigo?, well I am keeping my old gazebo and lpg equipment so maybe tempted after a long rest this summer but it will only be occasional if it does happen. In the meantime we will continue to travel and have adventures and will put it on our YouTube channel and the name of this page will reflect that but if we do decide to pop up at an event we will definitely let you know on here.

10 years!, yes that’s how long we have been in business. I still remember the first time we traded, on Littlehampton High Street on the Artisan Market where I took the princely sum of £60 and questioned my sanity. Through COVID where we had the Restaurant and ended up shutting it down and going back to mobile catering where we shot off like a rocket. A failed marriage but it bought me another one and have never looked back because Jenny Browning has been nothing but supportive in everything and has put up with way more than she should have done and became a major factor in its growth. We have made so many friends, friends for life that we’re either customers, event organisers or fellow traders and the events have been so much fun, we have loved every minute of it.
An opportunity has now come my way, something I’ve wanted to do for years but thought I may have missed the boat at 57 but it seems not and this has made us think long and hard. The country is not in a great financial place, takings have been dropping, food prices have gone up dramatically as well as gas, fuel, insurances as well as many other costs and the fact that being in the later stages of life it’s harder and harder to do the 18 hour days and how much longer can it be done? We now have the opportunity to enjoy the summer rather than work it, take a step back and enjoy life more and attend events as guests or volunteers to actually spend quality time with the many friends we have (many in the vanlife scene) rather than chat to them over a counter or have a quick beer with late in the evening before getting to bed to be up early the next day.
We now feel that it’s time to step away from catering, have the security of a salary with a company that is very big, and to be able to use the time off to really relax and enjoy life and travel. As the next few months proceed, we won’t be doing any more events catering wise but we will still be involved in their management and will continue with the stage and sound engineering. It’s time to move with the times and maybe do the odd pop up food event just to enjoy it, that’s never off the table.

We will in the next few days rename this page to reflect the events side of things so that you can all keep up to date with what we are doing, and you can always find our adventures on the Hey Amigo On The Road page and YouTube channel.

Thank you to each and everyone one of you that has supported our journey over the years.
Bring on the next chapter!

Welcome to Hey Amigo! We are back to our streetfood roots and are now mobile so follow us on our adventures in event catering. You can also follow our general travel adventures where we use our self build camper Busby to explore the uk 😊

As we put the units to bed for the winter, we would like to thank all of our customers, both new and returning, for supporting us through the year.
There has been lots of highs and lows, laughter and tears, but we managed to get through it all.

Thank you to our clients for having us at their events, good and bad, we had a lot of fun and loved supporting every event that we attended.

Thank you to our friends and family for helping and supporting us when times were tough or we got stuck in the mud (again!) 😂

We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year!
