Team Barfoots Cropping are still going strong with our British chilli production. It’s been a challenging year under glass with the extreme heat. The team have really pulled together and adapted to the conditions, seeing it through to deliver a range of exceptional chillies 🙌🌶️🇬🇧

Recently we welcomed Dr Robert Bradburne, Chief Scientist of The Environment Agency to our HQ, seen here with Barfoots Farm Director Neil Cairns and CEO Julian Marks. The visit focussed on sustainable farming and land stewardship, resource efficiency, circularity, water management, and innovation.

We are grateful to Dr Robert Bradburne for taking the time to visit, and were delighted to hear he was ‘genuinely inspired’ by our efforts to build resilience against climate change.

It’s sweetpotato harvest season for our long-term growing partners in North Carolina, where the temperatures and soil are perfect for sweetpotatoes to thrive.

A great deal of hard work, care and attention goes into providing delicious nutritious sweetpotatoes. From propagation to harvesting by hand, followed by a curing process to enhance their sweet flavour and toughen their delicate skins. They then make their journey to our HQ on the south coast via boat in time for the new year.

British Butternuts! It was a pleasure to welcome our long term seed partner Sakata to our butternut field to see how the crop has thrived. Growing this wonder veg on our UK soil at scale has been a joint dream for all of us that has been years in the making. A huge thank you to Stuart, Marine, James and the rest of the team who have helped turn this into a reality! 🧡🇬🇧
