OPENING HOUR ANNOUNCEMENT

At last it’s Halloween time! Which means East Boldon pumpkins returns bigger and better than last!

Please note like last year we will do a special doggy day which will be announced soon.

No tickets or pre booking required, our amazing food caterers are set to return with extra rides too!

Bigger and better pumpkins of all different sizes and colours with new photo opportunities along the way!

Last night at 3:30am our farm was burgled. They’ve stolen over £3000 worth of tools we use to prepare for our PYO events. They’ve known exactly where are cameras are so have been across before. Reward for the tools returned.

As harvest gets well underway, there will be more large machines on the roads. Often they will be escorted by a pickup with a beacon on, or perhaps a tractor with all its work lights on (white lights all round the cab) the drivers maybe flashing their headlights at you to warn of the large vehicle coming. Please slow down, perhaps even pull in to a entrance, or stop at a wider bit of the road.

Today whilst coming back to the farm with the combine a driver flew past the tractor trying to warn them, they cam round the corner and missed the first combine by diving into the hedge, then came back onto the road, nearly hit the second combine, back into the hedge, then nearly hit the car that had stopped to let us passed.

If you hit these machines in your car it would be like hitting a brick wall. You will come off worse.

Everyone wants to get home safe, currently it will be mainly combines, once they stop it will be potato harvesters. There are also currently Pea viners in Fife.

Hi all, sorry it’s a late post but as you can probably tell our season has changed dramatically this year. With the warm dry weather the harvest has been brought forward to be a very intense period. That being said unfortunately whilst everyone else enjoyed the new climate, our sunflowers did not. Although we did try to grow them and some have grown and flowered, we have decided not to open this year as we would rather wait till next year and have as good quality sunflower patch as we did last year.

Our pumpkins however are growing and we hope to open again ahead of Halloween! Sorry for the unfortunate news but we have big plans for next year so fingers crossed the weather next year is kinder for our flowers. Any ideas on what we have in store? Let us hear your guesses in the comments and photos from everyone enjoying the patch last year.
