We are hiring! - Kitchen Assistant Role
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with a passion for food. As a business we hand make 90% of everything we sell and the successful candidate will support us with our day to day operations, including food preparation, cooking & baking, running a busy service, cleaning equipment, managing stock and maintaining our high hygiene standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities…
Food Preparation & Cooking: Assist with preparing ingredients, cooking, and serving meals according to our recipes.
Cleaning & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, including washing dishes, cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
Kitchen Support: Organise, store, and label ingredients, monitor stock levels and support with special events.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Previous general kitchen experience is essential - min 1 year experience. (Note: we are not looking for a baker specifically, but if you can also bake all the better!)
Skills: Good general cooking knowledge, ability to follow instructions & recipes with excellent communication skills.
Certifications: Food safety and hygiene level 2.
Attributes: High hygiene standards, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Creative and passionate about handmade real food.
Hours: We can be flexible for the right candidate however we are looking for the following core hours to be covered:
Wednesday to Friday 11:30am to 4:30pm (15 hours per week).
Plus ideally at least 1 weekend per month Saturday & Sunday 9:30-4:30 (with flexibility for this to grow).
