Our main honey harvest is coming up! 🐝🍯

Here’s a little look at how we bring our raw honey from hive to jar at Bright Meadows Honey:

We collect the full honey supers from each hive.
Carefully remove the honey frames, uncap them and place them in the extractor, where the honey is gently spun out. We then simply strain it to remove wax debris before filling our jars.

That’s it! heavy processing : just raw honey, full of the natural character of the Bolton countryside. 🌼

Because our bees forage across local wildflowers, every harvest has its own distinctive flavour. The flowers change with the season, and so does the honey!

We’re a small, family-run business, and we’re so grateful for everyone who supports our local hives. Keep an eye out for more harvest updates : and if you love beautifully natural, locally produced honey, we’d be delighted to share a jar with you. 💛

Honey harvest season is just around the corner, and we are so excited for late summer ☀️

Ever wondered how we get our delicious raw honey from the hive and into your jar?
It is a wonderfully gentle process that keeps all the natural goodness completely untouched:

• Uncapping: We carefully remove the wax seal that the bees place over the honey cells.
• Spinning: The frames go into our extractor, which spins the honey out gently without harming the comb.
• Straining: We simply strain it through a mesh to catch any tiny wax debris: nothing added, and no heavy processing!

Fun fact: Over the course of the busy summer, a strong hive works tirelessly to produce around 20 to 30 pounds of surplus honey for us to enjoy, while always leaving plenty behind for their own winter stores! 🌸

Because we only strain our honey, every jar captures the unique floral flavors of our local Bolton area.
