We’ve been quiet on here for a while! Not because we’ve had nothing to share but because there hasn’t been a once of time or energy left to post!

We’ve climbed a mountain the last few weeks. The teamwork and tenacity that it’s taken to get to grips with the parlour, the equipment, the testing, the cleaning protocols, drainage and electrical issues, all while training sheep that have never been milked before, that are still with their lambs in the daytime and all landing in the school holidays with a sold out public event at the end has taken many of us to our knees! Quite literally! 🙏

When we are physically and mentally out of our own strength prayer is all we have left. And prayer got us through.

We are milking. The sheep are thriving. The event was a huge success and we are all still here!

Many posts to follow as I will recap on what we have been through the last few weeks. It’s been hard! The joy shared at the event was the reward 🥰 But the best part has been the teamwork. Getting milking has been like learning a new dance together, every person (and animal!) involved connected to each other to make things flow in sync. It’s taking some practice!

We couldn’t have done it without the support of our community, local farmers sharing experiences and knowledge, RMS heros, our electrician , creative solutions from , , kim@forfarmers Sue and the encouragement of our friends, shareholders and volunteers - and not least the kids. They have been amazing and that’s what makes it all worthwhile. The things we do to keep them off screens 🤣😮‍💨

One of the most amazing gifts this lambing experience has given us is the opportunity to normalise birth for our children. Personally with a background as a birth doula I’ve been very aware of the battle, the media and medicalisation of birth in our culture has made it difficult to reassure them that we are designed for this! For all our families to have had the chance to be upfront and personal with this part of life, and at times death too, is really powerful and more impactful than anything we could try to teach them 🙏
