Not the sun this time… but one of the stars of our sauce. 🧀✨

Meet Wordsworth, a Gouda style beauty from The Book & Bucket Cheese Company, right here in Dorset.

And here’s the bit we really love — it’s made less than 20 miles from where we turn it into our seriously cheesy sauce. 💛

We’re big believers in using brilliant local producers wherever we can, and this is one of the artisan cheeses that helps make our mac & cheese what it is.

From a Dorset dairy… to a Dorset kitchen… to your bowl. 🍝

Nobody tells you this part of running a catering trailer... 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

When I started Grate Expectations, I thought the biggest challenge would be perfecting mac & cheese...

Turns out, learning to tow a trailer has had other ideas. 😅

So far I've managed to:
🚜 Make the trailer face-dive by undoing the wrong part of the jockey wheel. Rookie error. 🙈
⚡ Get home after a gig to discover the electrics cable had somehow snapped clean in two.
🔗 Finish another event only to find the breakaway cable had broken.
🛞 And after the long drive back from Cornwall last weekend... discover the jockey wheel had unwound itself while I was driving (yes, apparently that's a thing!) and happily dragged itself along the dual carriageway until the tyre disappeared and the wheel buckled.

Every trip seems to teach me something new... usually the hard way. 😂

Thankfully, one person has talked me through every mishap, answered every slightly panicked phone call and never once made me feel daft.

A huge thank you to Gary at 4Sure I genuinely don't know what I'd have done without you over the last few months. Your advice, patience and willingness to help has been absolutely priceless.

Here's hoping I've got all my trailer mishaps out of the way now... although if towing has taught me anything, I probably shouldn't tempt fate! 🤞😂
