This weeks Wise Wednesday is about our famous four legged friends.

Please don’t touch or feed the ponies that roam the moor.

The food we can offer, isn’t part of their normal diet and so can make them ill.

We can carry nasty diseases that can pass onto the ponies making them seriously ill.

They are semi wild animals making their actions very unpredictable.

The act of feeding and petting encourages them to stick close to roads and car parks, this increases the chance of being hit by passing traffic.

Always lovely when two hens join forces and bring up a brood. Ended up with 10 guinea fowl, hatched by two separate hens.
They can now share a house! 😀❤️

They will move over to the yard in the next few days when they’ve settle into this house and rear them there, meaning less chance the GF will disappear! (Well that’s the plan anyway! 🤞🥴)

Devon County Show: we always knew we would win our class as we were the only ones!! 🙄🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
But….. we still went and were all delighted with her performance. Unnerved by her antics at Redpost the previous week, she proved us wrong and pulled it out of the bag.
Although not placed in the championships, I’m delighted to say a Suffolk punch came first, just brilliant! 😀😀followed by a very worth shire owned by Charlotte Webb he looked stunning! ❤️

Great to get everyone together and we were in and out before we got really stuck in traffic, back in the field grazing by 1pm! 👍❤️

Thanks to Colin Wares and Patricia Wares for getting up at some ungodly hour to come with me and mum and dad for providing the bacon sarnies after!

We were lucky to catch this cast (virgin queen 🐝 ) only a few meters away from the apiary. Now back in situ in a new hive, and she has settled!
We now have 5 very productive hives at LTB and now this, our sixth looks positive!

A mixed result at Redpost Show today with Bee. Impeccably behaved in her first class coming in a respectable 4th however after a long wait for her second class, something really got to her and we retired on safety grounds, no longer sure I could hold her!

Unbeknown to me there was a stallion behind us in the ring whose owner wasn’t keeping distance and I can only assume she was very unsettled by his close presence. 🤷‍♀️🤔Her trot away from him was fine but too close and she was on fire! 😔🥴

So lovely that Dad and Ronnie Cockett came ❤️ and once again massive thanks to my ever faithful grooms Colin Wares and Patricia Wares ❤️
