Time to say " goodbye mi lovelies"
Today was our last day as the owners of our little shop, The Idle Sandwich Company. Over the past nine and half years, we have lived and breathed the shop, putting our heart and souls into it.(I hope it showed, it definately showed with my eyebags 🤣)
We want to thank each and everyone of our lovely customers for your continued support over the years, through Covid, 2 years of queueing at the door hatch (made by my brother Steve ❤️)while we sweltered in our face masks all day. YOU kept the shop going, while a lot of poor shops went under. People who offer to go to the shop for us when we are knee deep and may have run out of something, all these things are what make the shop and the village so special.
I have watched my school kids over the years, who come for their discounted sarnies in a morning, grow into adults and still visit us. Its little Janet (I think the whole of Idle and half of Bradford will know her) who we will miss and worry about if we haven't seen her first thing at the crack of dawn. It hasn't just been about the shop for us it's been about looking out for our customers, the friends that they have become over the years, (the odd tin of mushy peas, t/cakes and even meat n tattie pie given 😚, we love you J) the daily banter, laughs and sometimes even tears. Thank you!!!!!!!!
The shop is now in the safe hands of Lisa, she has worked here for nearly three years and knows what a busy little shop it is, I hope you will all continue to support her and keep this little shop that does big things, go from strength to strength.
Just before I go, I will be staying on a few days a week, I know, just when you thought you'd got rid of me. Its just to help for a smoother transition and then I'm open for any part time jobs going 🤣
It's been a blast, Sha & Mark.
