🍅 Tomato season is well and truly here at Meadowsweet Farm!

Poorly pruned, slightly unruly… but abundantly fruiting! 😂🌿

We’re getting bumper harvests like this every few days, and they just keep coming. There’s something very satisfying about turning a slightly chaotic tangle of plants into baskets and baskets of beautiful tomatoes.

Definitely a case of they may not look organised, but they know what they’re doing! 🍅❤️

🌿 Our first little event at Meadowsweet Farm! 🌿

What a day for our first one! 🥰 After battling rain and wind and having to move the whole set-up around, we somehow managed to pull it all together.

And then, as if it had been planned, the sun came out just in time for our guests to arrive and stayed shining while they ate. ☀️ The moment they left, the skies opened again! 🌧️😂 We couldn't have timed it better.

The girls were wonderful helpers and worked so hard helping me get everything ready and looking lovely. 💕 Definitely a team effort.

Homemade cake, pastries, fresh fruit, flowers and lots of little Meadowsweet touches 🌸🌾 I'm really pleased with how our very first event at Meadowsweet Farm came together — despite the British weather doing its best to test us!
Hopefully the first of many. ❤️

🎃 Operation Giant Pumpkin is underway! 🎃

Our Halloween pumpkins are growing… and we’re aiming for GIANTS! 👀

They’re currently hiding away under a jungle of leaves, getting bigger by the day. The question is — how big can we get them by Halloween?! 🎃💪

🌱 Fresh from the field today at Meadowsweet Farm! 🌱
Today's harvest has made it straight from the garden to our roadside stall.

🧅 Fresh onions
🥒 Crisp cucumbers
🍅 Juicy tomatoes
🥒 Courgettes

Everything is grown naturally, without pesticides or artificial fertilisers, and picked at its best for flavour.

The girls have been hard at work harvesting and stocking the stall, so if you're passing by, pop in and grab some truly local produce while it lasts.

Well... it didn't explode, nobody lost a finger, and we even ended up with some usable timber! 😂🪵

Today we fired up the sawmill for the very first time at Meadowsweet Farm. Like most things around here, we're learning as we go, making a few mistakes, and having a good laugh along the way.

Once we'd got the hang of things we had a go at milling some beautiful Devon ash too. With ash dieback sadly taking its toll, good ash timber is becoming harder to come by, so it felt right to save some and give it a future on the farm rather than seeing it go to waste.

I think it's safe to say the sawmill has already started earning its keep. Looking forward to turning more local timber into something useful around the farm.

🌿 Today's harvest at Meadowsweet Farm 🌿
The baskets are starting to fill! Fresh, sun-ripened apricots, juicy plums, crisp cucumbers and the first of our tomatoes are all coming in from the garden. 🍑🍅🥒

This basket is coming to work with me on the labour ward this evening to share with my fellow midwives. ❤️ It's always a pleasure to take a little taste of the farm in to brighten a busy shift.

Everything is grown with care, without pesticides, and picked when it's ready – not before.

The tomatoes are finally beginning to ripen at Meadowsweet Farm 🍅

A lovely mix of shapes, sizes and colours — and plenty more still to come! There’s nothing quite like the taste of a freshly picked, home-grown tomato.

🍑 Harvest day at Meadowsweet Farm!

Hundreds of apricots picked today, progress on the chicken run, and one very happy little tree climber.

Time for a well-earned sit down... before we start processing all these apricots! 😅💛
