Sheep are in for crutching. Guess who came to say hello 😁 not so tiny now!

What is crutching?
Crutching is the job of trimming the dirty or long wool from around a sheep’s back end and back legs. It keeps the area clean, reduces mess, and helps the flock stay healthy as the seasons change.

Why do we crutch sheep?
The main reason is flystrike prevention. Flies are attracted to damp, dirty wool and can lay eggs in it, which leads to maggots and serious health problems. Crutching removes the wool that attracts them, keeping sheep comfortable and protected.

Don't miss out! Our experience is almost full. If you're seeking a one-of-a-kind challenge, this is it. Ideal for checking off a bucket list item or birthday goal (50 before 50).

Our shearing experiences are run in small groups with two experienced tutors to support you and the welfare of the sheep. You can get as hands on with the experience as you would like!

After shearing your sheep, you can take your fleece home or leave it with us to be turned into a felted rug or woven mat to have as a keepsake of your experience.
