The funeral for the late William Dilwyn Phillips, or Dil / Dilly as he was most commonly known, will take place tomorrow at Coychurch Crematorium at 10:30am.

Originally born in Glynogwr in 1936, Dil had an eventful life where very rarely he could go out without bumping into someone that he knew for a chat, even if he was just popping to the shop. From market gardening, shopkeeping, a milk round, agricultural contracting, delivering farm feed/supplies in the local area and also living and working on Felindre Farm for a time alongside the late Ivor Hill - Dil was a popular, well liked member of the farming community with a wicked sense of humour; often pulling playful pranks on people and never failing to put a smile on someone’s face.

Dil was still active well into his later years, helping the family at Pantynawel Farm whilst living in Pontyrhyl, before eventually returning to a bit of gardening and a quieter life in Pencoed alongside his wife Izzy.

Dil was a well loved uncle and great uncle to us here at Pantynawel Farm, as Gwyneth’s brother, and will be sorely missed. 🤍
