Our cows produce excellent quality milk which, within a very short time, is processed in our state of the art dairy. For us, this recognition is about so much more than great dairy products. It reflects our passion for connecting children with where their food comes from. Through our educational farm visits, we give local schools the chance to experience real farming life—meeting the animals, understanding food production, and learning about sustainability in a hands-on way.

These experiences help children build a deeper appreciation for nature, healthy eating, and the hard work behind the food on their plates. Inspiring the next generation to value farming and the environment is something we truly care about.

Meet a recent addition to the Iola cow family here at Ty Tanglwyst. This pretty little calf is a red and white Holstein. Most Holstein cows are black and white but there are some red and white coloured ones in the breed. In over 40 years of pedigree breeding this has been the first year we have had a red and white calf born at Ty Tanglwyst.

At Ty Tanglwyst an important part of our business is the sale of our pedigree Holstein heifers and cows to other dairy farmers. Many stay within South Wales & the South West with some travelling a little further into England. Our herd calve all year round providing a steady supply of milk for our wonderful dairy customers and an equally, steady supply of great heifers and cows for our farming customers. Yesterday (8/10/25) we were delighted to win Champion at the Holstein South Wales monthly Show & Sale held at Nock Deighton Agricultural LLP Carmarthen Livestock Market. For those of our followers who haven't been to a livestock auction before here is a video that has kindly been shared by the Holstein South Wales Club. This was our lovely heifer Dora being sold yesterday after winning in the show. Thank you and good luck to the purchasers yesterday. We hope the heifers will develop into great cows at their new farms over the coming years. Thank you to the club, auctioneers, the judge and also to yesterday's sponsors easibedding.co.uk

We had a great day at the Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Show earlier this month! A big thank you to our wonderful team of helpers, not just those who were with us on the day but also those who helped with halter training, clipping and keeping the farm running over a very busy period. As always, the show was fantastic, if you didn't make it this year, please mark it in your diaries for next year. Well done to all the other competitors and thank you to the show organisers. See you all again next year!
