World Book Day π
Reading provides so many opportunities for conversations, ideas, and thoughts. It is spending quality time with your children, or time on your own, knowing that there are so many benefits to be gained, as well as the pleasure and fun of sharing books. Reading, even for just a few minutes each day, can help to boost vocabulary, increase academic performance, and improve emotional well being. It is crucial for brain development and supports language and communication skills.
Sharing books, reading together, or reading independently helps to develop creativity and imagination.
At Willow's Woodland, we will be hosting lots of educational and fun events to recognise days like "World Book Day" working closely with the children and families from Dad's the Word to ensure that the children have wonderful opportunities to explore and experience stories, books, roleplay, puppets, props, and so much more. We will be having local authors and illustrators come and visit the children and families, sharing their experiences and stories in a variety of different ways. We will be having workshops and story sessions indoors and outdoors, and making the most of our "Stories in the Sticks" π³π
We will also be having a regular Book Club, for families and for adults, in our "Once Upon a Thyme" library, for you to come along and share a selection of books, whilst enjoying the company of other book enthusiasts, over a cuppa and cake from our cafe "Peace of cake" βοΈπ°
We are certainly looking forward to the next chapter at "Willow's Woodland " ππ³
