Here at Gothelney we are reclaiming pockets of woodland around the farm, allowing the pigs to roam freely and exploit their natural habitat and instincts. Outdoor diets, naturally rich in advantageous omega-3 acids and antioxidants, produce superior flavour and nutritional value. Mangalitzas were imported into the UK in 2006, rescued from near extinction, slowly becoming recognised for their rare

and exceptional qualities. Of the three types (Red, Blonde and Swallow bellied) our red-type (favoured for its larger frame and conformation) breeding stock is directly descended from the original imported stock, pedigree registered and assured by the British Pig Association. Taking up to four times longer to reach maturity than conventionally farmed pork, the slow growing, lard type pig, marbled much like quality beef. We are in the process of renovating Gothelney Hall, a beautiful Grade I listed farmhouse dating to 1400, and its outbuildings - the most recent example being the Stable Block; now a spacious and characterful venue. The Stable Block, available for hire, is ideal for conferences, meetings, and family events - with catering to suit your requirements.
