Local Food Links (LFL) was established in Bridport in 2006 to reintroduce hot school meals to the 8 primary schools in the area. The organisation was formed as a social enterprise and worked with local independent suppliers and the Food for Life Partnership to create homecooked meals that children would enjoy and a service that schools would value. All our meat, dairy and eggs are locally sourced

as well as a considerable percentage of our fruit and vegetables. Local Food Links has grown considerably in the last 18 years and now works with 58 schools and several nurseries out of 3 large hub kitchens located in Blandford, Bridport and Weymouth. Approximately 5,000 meals are produced every day for Dorset pupils.

After 20 incredible years of serving school meals across Dorset, today weโ€™re taking a moment to celebrate this very special milestone.

From serving soup lunches to one school in Bridport in 2006, to delivering around 5,000 meals every day to more than 60 schools across the county, what a journey it has been! ๐Ÿ’›

This afternoon, weโ€™ll be marking our 20th Anniversary with a Birthday Tea Party, joined by some of our schools, pupils, suppliers, colleagues, friends and supporters who have been part of our story over the years.

We are so proud of what Local Food Links has achieved, but none of it would have been possible without the dedication of our fantastic team, the support of our schools, the commitment of our suppliers, and the trust placed in us by generations of families and pupils.

Hereโ€™s to the memories weโ€™ve made, the meals weโ€™ve served, and the exciting future ahead. Thank you for being part of our journey.
