Local Food Links (LFL) was established in Bridport in 2006 to reintroduce hot school meals to the 8 primary schools in the area. The organisation was formed as a social enterprise and worked with local independent suppliers and the Food for Life Partnership to create homecooked meals that children would enjoy and a service that schools would value. All our meat, dairy and eggs are locally sourced as well as a considerable percentage of our fruit and vegetables. Local Food Links has grown considerably in the last 18 years and now works with 58 schools and several nurseries out of 3 large hub kitchens located in Blandford, Bridport and Weymouth. Approximately 5,000 meals are produced every day for Dorset pupils.

Get the pens, pencils and paints out and let their imaginations run wild! All they need to do is draw or paint a Christmas-themed jumper design on one sheet of A4 plain paper โ€“ no jumper templates, please!

โค๏ธ The exciting bit? The winning design could be turned into a real Christmas jumper for the child to wear on Christmas Jumper Day!

How to enter:

๐Ÿ“ง Email your masterpiece to [email protected]

For 20 years, weโ€™ve been passionate about preparing nutritious, delicious school meals and connecting children with good food.

British Food Fortnight is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the farmers, producers and suppliers who provide the ingredients we use, as well as our amazing kitchen teams who turn them into meals for over 5,000 children every day.

Roast Dinner Day is one of our most popular days of the week. If you missed out this time, donโ€™t worry โ€“ our roast dinner is back on the menu next Wednesday and every Wednesday!

Make sure to save the work to us and let us do the cooking โ€“ no packed lunch needed!

But hurry โ€“ you only have until midnight tonight to guarantee your orders for next Wednesday onwards.

๐Ÿ’š Meals are FREE for Reception, Year 1 & Year 2, as well as entitled children in Year 3 and above.

Itโ€™s well worth checking whether your child could now be entitled to Free School Meals. The criteria changed over the summer, so if you havenโ€™t checked recently, now is a good time!
